FAQs

The Wedding Website of Kristy Richardson and Lisa Powell
If you have questions other than those we've listed here, please reach out to us! Kristy (731-695-4377) may know more of the details than Lisa (731-444-4499), but you never know. If Lisa is "locked in," she may have a plethora of knowledge to share on any given day.😊
Question

What date should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP by September 30. 2026.

Question

What are the addresses of the Wedding Ceremony and Reception Venue?

Answer

The Wedding Ceremony and Reception will both take place at Gracefully Adorned Events Venue, 12938 Worthington Blvd, Pataskala, OH 43062. Once you arrive, you'll enter through the doors on the back side of the building.

Question

Have you reserved a block of rooms?

Answer

We have reserved a room block at Hampton Inn, 5220 Forest Drive, New Albany, Ohio 43054. Please book your stay by October 3, 2026, to guarantee a room in our block. Use our Group Block Code 501 or mention "Richardson-Powell WB" while booking to receive our reduced rate.

Question

Will your Ceremony and Reception be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The Ceremony and Reception will both be indoors.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

We want you to be comfortable at our wedding! We’re planning on having fun, and we all know that sequins, sparkles, and bright colors always add to that! Definitely wear something that is danceable – shoot for “informally fabulous!”

Question

Am I allowed to bring a plus one?

Answer

We are not allowing additional plus ones at our wedding, as we'd like to keep the guest list just to those who know us well.

Question

Are children allowed?

Answer

We love your children, we really do! But due to space restrictions based on our budget, we cannot accommodate guests under age 21 on our wedding day. We encourage you to make lots of memories and take great pictures to show them later.

Question

Can I take pictures?

Answer

Yes, BUT . . . we want beautiful pictures of our ceremony, not shot after shot of Aunt Deb accidentally photobombing with her giant iPad, or dozens of phones held in the air like at a Taylor Swift concert. Please only take pictures (a) surreptitiously, or (b) during the reception.

Question

What is the wedding day itinerary?

Answer

Our wedding will take place at 5:00 pm on October 24, 2026. The ceremony will begin at 5:00 pm sharp, followed by cocktail hour and the reception, which is anticipated to wrap around 9:00 pm.

Question

Will there be a gap between the Ceremony and the Reception?

Answer

A 30-minute cocktail hour will take place between the ceremony and reception where you can enjoy cocktails, mocktails, and small bites.

Question

What type of food will be served at the wedding?

Answer

We'll be serving hors d'oeuvres during the cocktail hour followed by a sit-down dinner with a choice of entree. You can expect some yummy yet “normal” food, which means Lisa wouldn’t mind any of it. 😊 Fish, caviar, lots of vegetables . . . don’t expect it. (Yes, there will SOME vegetables. And salad.)

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Wine, beer, seltzers, and two specialty cocktails (Captain Morgan / Diet Coke and Vodka Cranberry) will be available for guests to enjoy throughout the cocktail hour and reception.

Question

What are the plans for the reception?

Answer

Dancing, dancing, dancing, and . . . KARAOKE! Begin preparing your song now!

Question

Is there an “After Party?”

Answer

Our reception will end around 9 pm, after which we will head downtown to a big Columbus event called Highball Halloween. The Short North (a food and arts district) is shut down for a big ole Halloween bash! There will be people dressed in Halloween costumes, live music and performances, a Halloween Couture Fashion Show and Runway, plus restaurants, bars, and at least one secret speakeasy. Our costumes will be “just married,” so we’re set. “Wedding guest vibe” is a good costume too, so no worries. 😊 Or feel free to change into a Halloween costume!

Question

Where are you registered?

Answer

You can find our wedding registry here on our website, and contribute directly to our Honeymoon Fund, under the "Registry" tab. We're going to Costa Rica!

Question

What time should I arrive at the venue?

Answer

The doors to the venue will open one hour ahead of our 5:00 ceremony start time. We recommend arriving at the ceremony venue at least 30 minutes ahead of the ceremony start time to ensure you have enough time to walk to the ceremony space and find a seat.

Question

Can you suggest places to eat, drink, and see while I’m in town for the wedding?

Answer

Check out the "Things to Do" section of our website to see some of our favorite spots to eat, drink and explore in our city.
