In light of the current events that we are all facing we have decided to change our wedding date to October 3, 2020. We are hoping and praying for all of our friends and family during this time and hope that we will be able to celebrate our loving ceremony with everyone in October. Updated post cards with this information are in route and will be sent out as soon as possible. Please update your RSVP when you can. Be safe and we love you!
During the holiday break, I (Lisa) unfortunately fell sick while visiting some of my best friends, Jessica and Kyle Perchalski and their kids Brinleigh and Harper in Jupiter, Fl. I returned to Tallahassee and went straight to the doctor and was diagnosed with the flu, I was NOT a happy camper. We had to cancel all our other Christmas plans, including hosting our families Christmas get together at Justin's house, no one wanted to risk feeling as I did, however Justin had no choice. :-) We celebrated Christmas Eve with soup, grilled cheese sandwiches, Lysol and meds! I was taking my medicine around the clock at the same time every day, not missing a dose. I wanted to feel better as soon as possible. Christmas morning I woke up at 5:00 AM just to take my meds and added some NyQuil to the mix, Oops! I didn't wake up again until around 10:45 that morning, While checking on me throughout the morning, Justin had finished a whole pot of coffee by the time I woke up. He was so excited or maybe nervous. Finally, I woke up to celebrate Christmas. Justin played Santa and passed out all the gifts except one, which I knew what it was b/c I wrapped it in all the leftover wrapping paper from the other gifts. He vehemently requested that I grab that gift and open it, I wasn't wanting to, but since he has suffered through my sickness, I did. While I was up he pointed to our beautiful Christmas tree and asked "What is that?' He was pointing to one of his sparkly reindeer ornaments and not only was it sparkling, but there, dangling from an antler was my engagement ring. I turned around to Justin, whom was bent on one knee already ready to request my hand in marriage. Not only did I say YES, but I was so sorry I was a sick stick in the mud, but I knew then that he loves me no matter what. This proposal was exactly what the doctor ordered!
We knew each other through our mutual friends, whom are all cousins, so we did know each other, but it wasn't until John and LeAnne Landrum's wedding that we held conversation. LeAnne had mentioned Justin to me during her bachelorette cruise to the Bahamas, but I wasn't sure at the time, I didn't really know him. Again, our mutual friends came into play, Tylor and Heather pushed us in each other's direction to dance together during John and LeAnne's wedding. We were actually two of the only single people left around both our groups of friends, so it worked out perfect. We danced together for the rest of the evening, and had a wonderful time. After that night, we continued to text and talk on the phone, had a few dinner dates and that was it! We've been together ever since, AND we still like to dance.
