All For Love

*A Special Note*

We want our wedding to be a safe space for everyone joining us to celebrate freely. Our wedding guests are made up of the most wonderfully kind and diverse people comprising different races, religions, orientations, body types and economic status. We LOVE them all for who they are! If you can't hold your tongue amongst drag queens, same sex couples and people who look or worship differently from you, then this is not the wedding for you.

The Engagement

"Operation Blue Sapphire"

Graham had been toying with the idea of proposing for a while but proposing to someone in the wedding industry seemed rather daunting. So, what sealed the deal? Seeing a unique ring and knowing it was almost perfect. Graham had long been a proponent of out of the ordinary styles, especially with someone as creative and colorful as Lisa. Graham worked closely with local jeweler, Erik Runyan and Mark Schneider Design to create the perfect one of a kind ring for Lisa with a “Princess Diana Blue” sapphire. With family jewelry that had been passed down, Graham was able to incorporate Grandma Eileen & Grandmaw Doris in the ring which was important to him since they were no longer around to welcome her to the family. So he has a ring, now what? Graham racked his brain for a place that was just a little crazy, was somewhere he didn’t know anyone else had done it and would make for a fantastic story as well as back drop. It hit him like a ton of bricks, THE GREAT WALL OF CHINA! But wait, what if we went to the END of the wall?! Graham immediately FaceTimed his sister Liz, who lives in Beijing and Operation Blue Sapphire was underway. Friday January 25th, Graham, Lisa and Liz boarded the bullet train in Beijing and headed to Qinhuangdao for the weekend. On Saturday all 3 piled into a taxi and headed to the Shanhai Pass to see Laolongtou where The Great Wall ends at the Bohai Sea. Thankfully it’s a summer tourist trap and there were very few people anywhere to be found. Graham told Lisa he wanted some photos together at the end of the wall but had some props. With Liz taking photos, Graham handed Lisa a manila envelope and while she opened it he got down on one knee. Inside Lisa found a mock Oregon license plate with MS. IG on it. Graham has zero recollection of actually asking Lisa if she would marry him, but Lisa says he did manage to get the words out. True to form Graham brought along some bourbon for them to share a toast to many more bourbons and adventures ahead.
