Funny how God's timing works in such a good way! About four years ago we were at a Christian Singles trivia night sitting on opposite sides of the room with a large group. Both of us definitely caught one another's eye and I walked over to say Hi to those across the room and introduced myself to him. Can still picture that very vividly, but he definitely remembers more details just ask him the color of my shorts lol. I occasionally would see his "maybes" on other activities and thought hmm maybe I should go to that event. Couple of years later, our friend, Peggy, came back from Maria's Friendsgiving party and shared with full excitement Lisa there is this guy that goes to that singles group you go to, he's tall, good looking, so nice and his name is Chris. "You should date him!" I said I know exactly who you are talking about. I'm not going to those events anymore. Fast forward to August 31st, a surprise party for our dear friend, Maria, was all set. I planned on going for about an hour and a half then heading up to Dueling Pianos up the street to meet another friend. The 50 shades of fabulous cocktail party had me borrowing a dress from a friend that was a little more fitting than my usual. I walked into the party and simultaneously Peggy came quickly towards me, and I saw Chris across the room. Chris and I did an immediate double take at each other. Peggy, with a big smile on her face, excitedly says "That Chris guy is here, you have to go talk to him!" Grinning ear to ear I said I will but does this dress make me look like a SLUT lol. She said "no, you look absolutely beautiful now go say Hi to him." I was at a friend's birthday party, when Lisa walked in, we both did a double take. While greeting her friends I was pretty sure I heard my name mentioned and the word "slut". After she greeted a few friends, we came together and quickly connected the dots on how we knew each other. A few years prior we both attended a Christian singles Trivia night; I may have been on a date "allegedly". I noticed Lisa sitting on the other end of the table, she came over and introduced herself. I may have been guilty of checking her out! It was just a few moments, but it was memorable. During Maria's party, I loved our conversation, how we continued to connect. A funny moment was when Maria, who had a firm rule against me dating her friends said, "you can totally date Lisa". Lisa won me over when she started doing the dishes with me, just a small glimpse into how caring and generous she is. Asking her for her number, inviting myself to join her at church and insisting on giving her a ride home all felt so natural. This official start of our journey has been so peaceful. We spent the evening talking, connecting with others and always coming back together. The conversation had never been easier, and it was perfect. He asked for my number so we could plan to spend more time together. Then he asked if I was going to church tomorrow and could he join me. Answer to one of my biggest prayers! As we were about to say goodbye for the evening, Maria was having a few back to her house and Chris asked if I would like to join him. More great conversations and laughs. It was getting late and I shared it was time to order an uber. He offered to drive me home. I looked around the room and knowing the others around I said, "I guess you won't kill me" and laughed so hard. More great conversation on the way to drop me off. Sunday morning was the start of every weekend going to Church together, many amazing experiences, laughs, sharing of every moment getting to know one another, and a love I never knew I would find in this lifetime! God's Blessing I cannot even put into words how thankful I am for the road leading up to Us and every moment we have building this life together. We are so honored for each of you being part of the path with us and sharing in this very special day as we unite as a Family! Jeremiah 29:11-13
