How We Met

First comes school, then comes marriage.

They met in school during a writing class. It was the type of class where nobody really talked. But almost every day Bradley would find something to complement Lisa on: her shoes, her shirt, every day it was something different. But nothing beyond that. The following semester Bradley had a class with one of Lisa's sorority sisters. From day one, she was talking Bradley's ear off about this perfect girl for him. While at the same time she was gushing to Lisa about how amazing this boy would be for her. (Shout Out to Tiffany!) They would always see each other around campus, but no made moves until the following semester, the winter semester of 2014. It was an IT lab, and Lisa was sitting next to her friend blabbing about Bonnaroo, but there was a seat open on her other side. As Lisa turned to look toward the door, her eyes met with Bradley's, and he immediately walked over and sat next to her with a breezy "Hey". And so the conversation carried through the next few weeks to their first date, and it never ended.

The Proposal

All the giggles

Bradley had been hinting to Lisa about a ring for a while. Saying things like "Just going out to spend a ton of money on something for you." But Lisa had no idea when or how he was going to do it. And he almost got her too! The day was one of those extremely hot and humid summer days in the city. They'd spent the day with their friends from Michigan who just moved to Chicago. When they got home Lisa was so exhausted and hot, all she wanted to do was sit in front of the fan. But Bradley insisted that today's lighting was perfect to go take pictures downtown. He had been wanting to do this for months, so that ask seemed completely ordinary to Lisa. So Lisa threw on shorts and a t-shirt. But when Bradley saw what Lisa looked like he told her that she needed to look cute because he wanted her in the photos. So Lisa begrudgingly changed into something more suitable. As Lisa was changing she realized that Bradley never cares what she looks like. Then it dawned on her. This was the day. A smile slowly widened across Lisa's face. But she wanted to be composed, so she quickly wiped it away and got changed. However, as soon as she saw Bradley she just couldn't hide that grin. On the L ride downtown, Lisa couldn't stop from giggling and giving Bradley the side eye, while trying to casually look at his pockets for a box bulge. Bradley quickly realized what she realized, and they both couldn't help but laugh at each other! Luckily it was hot enough that day that nearly nobody was at Buckingham Fountain. After taking a few pics around the area, Bradley took Lisa to the side with the city in the background. The sun was starting to set as he pulled two quarters out from his pocket. "Let's make a wish" he said. Lisa's first reaction was "we need those for laundry!" As Lisa reached for the quarter, he dropped it. As he was coming back up, he lifted his head, and got down on one knee. Lisa could no longer contain herself. She was so excited she barely remembered to say "yes"!
