Yes we are! There is nothing we love more than the beach, so we decided to have a destination wedding in Mexico! Riviera Cancun (the resort town) is located close to the Cancun International Airport. When booking your flight, make sure you book for the arrival airport CUN.
Excellence Riviera Cancun is an amazing adults only, all inclusive resort. Once you have booked on the website (make sure you use the promo code when booking), all you will need to worry about is packing. There are many types of rooms available to book. If you need help deciding on the category, please let either Taylor (our travel agent), Lisa, or Braden know and they can talk you through it. https://www.theexcellencecollection.com/resorts/riviera-maya-cancun/excellence-resorts/excellence-riviera-cancun/ Contact email for the resort: rivieracancun@excellenceresorts.com
As much as we love your kiddos, we have decided to not have kids in attendance for our wedding. You're welcome to stay at another resort with your kids, but kids are not allowed on the Excellence Resort grounds. The resort is 18+, so any child that is over the age of 18 is more than welcome to come!
1. Go to the website: https://www.excellenceresorts.com/riviera-maya-cancun/excellence-riviera-cancun/ 2. Search for the dates (Example: February 19-23, 2025) 3. Put in the promo code: LBWFEB25XRC This makes sure you get the discounted wedding rate 4. Select what type of room you want and book it! If you need any help or have any questions with booking, feel free to reach out to our travel agent, Taylor, and she can help you! Travel agent: Taylor Martz Info@vibethrivetravel.com 754-800-1568 ext 8423 The resort does not reserve room blocks, so it is a possibility that the room you want might becomes sold out. I would advise you to book your room ASAP because there are only a certain amount of rooms that can be used with our promo code and the possibility of the resort filling up. If you are unsure you will be able to attend, I would go ahead and book the room (you will not be charged until 30 days before your first nights stay). The credit card that you use to book your reservation will not be charged until 30 days before you arrive to the resort, so please go ahead and book/reserve a room as soon as you can. Contact email for the resort: rivieracancun@excellenceresorts.com
Yes, to be associated with our wedding festivities (and to receive the discounted room rate) you need to use the promo code when booking your room. Once you have booked your flight, you will then be able to book your transfer to and from the airport to the resort (and vise versa). Make sure you know your flight times and flight numbers. On your confirmation email from Excellence Resort there is a link towards the bottom that you will click on called "Schedule Transfer". It is below the Airport Transfer section. That link will pop up an email draft for you to contact Seasons Transfers to schedule your transfer. If you know there are multiple people arriving at around the same time, you can add them to your same transfer reservation. If you need any help in scheduling this or communicating with Seasons, please let Lisa know. Seasons Transfer email: transfers@seasonstours.com
We understand that life happens and it is very unpredictable. Our promo code to book a room is available to use until October 2024, so make sure your room is booked by then. If you are worried that all the rooms in the resort might be booked, but do not want to commit to a room quite yet, I would go ahead and book/ reserve your room. The card that you use to book your reservation will not be charged until 30 days before your arrival date to the resort. Also, all rooms are fully refundable if you are to cancel 48 hours in advance prior to your arrival. I am not wanting the resort to book completely and for you to not have a room in case you are able to attend, so I would go ahead and book a room. The LATEST we need your RSVP is October 1, 2024 so please decide by then.
The LATEST we need your RSVP is October 14, 2024 Make sure that once you RSVP you have booked your room (and use the promo code)! Once you have RSVP'd and booked your room, book your flight!
Attire is cocktail. A cocktail dress for women fits the occasion, and khaki or linen pants and a button down shirt or polo for men is appropriate. We encourage you to wear bright, fun, festive colors to help accentuate the beauty of Mexico and Lisa & Braden's love. Both the ceremony and the reception will be outside (weather permitting). We can expect the weather to be in the mid to upper 70's. The wedding ceremony will be held on the beach, so wear shoes you do not mind getting sandy (or take them off and be barefoot, whatever you find to be more comfortable).
Tipping is always a nice gesture, and the staff will always appreciate it. It is however not mandatory and you do not need to do it all the time. Since Cancun is a very touristy area, US dollars are commonly accepted. I would suggest to bring some small dollar bills with you. You might be able to get some small dollar bills from the front desk, but it is tricky and they do not always have change available. Some ideas for suggested tipping amounts: -Bell hop $5 per room -Servers/ Waiters $5 per meal per table -Bartender $1 per round of drinks Lisa hates carrying around a bunch of bills during the day, so one thing she does is tip a good amount ($10) after she has had a few rounds of food and drinks.
Yay! Us too! We cannot wait to celebrate with each and every one of yall on the gorgeous beach in Cancun! Make sure that your Passport is up to date and that it will not be expiring 6 months before and/or after the trip. If it is to be expiring a few months before or after February 2025, I would go ahead and start the renewal process. This process has been taking an extremely long time to be approved, so make sure you do it far in advance! Also, make sure you download the "The Excellence Collection" app on your phone. This will give you access to all the resorts menus, dress codes, and a map of the resort. This will be helpful when trying to decide on what and where to eat. Also, certain restaurants have certain dress codes, the app will list all the details (location, times of operation, dress codes) for each restaurant and bar.
We have started a group chat on WhatsApp called "TheBonds" To join the chat: 1. Download WhatsApp on your phone before you travel to Mexico 2. Create a WhatsApp account. 3. Copy and paste this link into your browser or into your app: https://chat.whatsapp.com/Jf6ghtFLe3uIGf7MFukbG9 4. Feel free to add people you know who are going to the wedding to the chat if they are not already in it. We will try to add everybody, but we might be missing a few. WhatsApp is accessible on wifi and cellular data. If you want to just have your wifi on your phone on, and not cellular out of country data, then this is a great app to use for communicating! Also make sure to download the Excellence App onto your phone! This app will display the resort map, the events happening, and the names and locations of the multiple bars and restaurants.
We cannot believe that we are already gearing up for our arrival to MEXICO!! Here are some tips and trick on how to navigate the Cancun Airport to get to our resort safely and confidently. 1. Make sure that you have your passport and that it does not expire 6 months after your travel dates. 2. Mexico no longer requires you to fill out anything before landing. You will be given a QR code from Immigration Control that has a link to your FMMD, which is what you will need for departure. Make sure that you do not loose that slip of paper when you are given it at immigration. 3. Once you land at CUN, you will go through Passport control. You will have the option to use an automated Kiosk or to go to an actual person. For either one of these options, it is smooth sailing and easy to navigate. This is where you will receive a slip of paper with your QR code on it for a form (FMMD) you will need upon exiting Mexico. 4. After you have gone through Passport Control, you will wait for your luggage. This can take 30 minutes to 1 hour to receive your luggage. Once you have collected your belongings, you will then walk to go through customs. This is hit or miss if you will be screened or not. If you are selected for screening, the agents will go through every single thing that you have packed. 5. After customs you will head to meet up with Seasons Transportation. This is where it is ok to be rude. You will walk through an inside area where there will be timeshare companies, rental car companies, and tourist companies on each side of the hallway trying to get your attention. DO NOT STOP, DO NOT TALK TO THEM. They will not help you. It is ok to say "no thanks" and to keep walking. Once you get outside where all the transportation companies are, do not talk to anybody unless they have a Seasons shirt on. Some people will try to be nice and "help you find your company" when in reality they will not.
You have roundtrip complimentary private shuttle service through Season Tours. Make sure you have confirmed your arrival and departure times with them before you have arrived to Mexico. There should be a link at the bottom of your reservation confirmation that will let you input your information. Their contact information: transfers@seasonstours.com There will be somebody waiting at the Airport terminal wearing a Seasons shirt. It will either be in green, black, or white. Do not talk to anybody unless they are in a Seasons shirt. There are a lot of companies that are out there, so try not to be too overwhelmed. Once you are in your car, it will be about 40 minutes from the Airport to the Resort. When departing the resort to go back to the airport, it is customary to have pickup 3-4 hours ahead of time. It depends on the time of year. This is due to there being a lot of traffic and construction around the airport of busy departure days. Have patience once you arrive at the airport as it may take a while to check your bags on a busy day.
Here are a few helpful videos to watch that better explain what you will expect to encounter at the Cancun Airport: https://youtu.be/ScwcwGBMI3c?si=KJfCID5utKcKjHtH https://youtu.be/0bb350ftPTM?si=LtvhKyW2zR5MtXqL https://youtu.be/gwStAWbMdVM?si=yGhmk5yQq7tjN_iO Departing: https://youtu.be/pHbBaQtBo2c?si=rW_KwSA5ifVYTB2q
We would love to get your travel information so that way if there are any problems/questions we can help you out as much as possible! Also, this will help us know what time y'all will be getting to the resort so that way we can try to greet each one of our guests upon arrival! https://forms.gle/cxuGHSGTTs2DZLhQ6
