I am lucky enough to have developed a friendship with Sarah in grad school. From the start we had both misadventures and adventures together, including when a man under the influence hitting my car, randomly seeing each other in Holland, adopting litter-mate kittens, and helping each other through challenging times. It has always been clear to me that we were meant to be friends and I could not ask for a better one! Sarah is compassionate, open-minded, fun, loving, and the kindest person that I know. Lionel and Sarah are similar in some ways, yet their differences also complement each other. I feel so honored to be a part of their lives and I can’t wait to attend the wedding!

Rachael

Maid of Honor

Hailing as the Maid of Honor and arguably, Sarah's favorite Sister from another Mister, is Rachael, the eldest sibling in the fam. Rachael lives in Ann Arbor, MI, and is elated to be nearby her Sis for coffee drop-ins and playdates with her adorable cats, Kiwi and Coco. When Rachael isn't working as an RN in cancer care, she can be found spoiling her two Old English Sheepdogs, snuggling with her two cats, tending her garden, swimming in nearby lakes, hiking the surrounding trails, and forever thrifting at estate sales and stores. Since Sarah was a wee little one, Rachael has affectionately called her Sunny. Sarah's sunset hued locks and sunny disposition solidified the nickname and she has been been fondly referred to since. Rachael is elated to be taking part in Lionel and Sunny's special day and is looking forward to gathering with their community of loved ones!

Sarah and I met at Eastern Michigan University in one of our Spanish classes in 2016. We especially bonded while doing a group project together where we had to make a marketing video and website in Spanish…it was hilarious and overly done but we aced it lol. Some of my fondest memories of our friendship growing was 1. Making hollandaise sauce at midnight for a snack and then not liking it so making cookies instead. 2. Going out dancing at grimy clubs in the city and then eating greasy burgers which would kill our stomachs the next day 3. Calling/texting Sarah when I was abroad and venting about my messy roommate. 4. Our walking trips where we’d just walk, chat/vent and occasionally engage in much needed retail therapy 5. Our coffee/study dates where we’d spend hours chatting and working and leaving the venue smelling like coffee beans- we still keep up our coffee dates to this day-minus the studying! Sarah is such a positive influence to have around. She is one of the hardest workers I know, incredibly kind, caring and supportive. I expect at the wedding to be many laughs, tears and DANCING! I’m so excited to be able to take part in this wedding and can’t wait for Sarah and Lionel to say I do (and to see Lionel’s dance moves).
