We met the traditional way – on Tinder – soon after Chris moved to Philadelphia from Toronto in the summer of 2018. Chris’s profile had a picture of himself driving a boat on a lake, really trying to emphasize his Canadian-ness, while Linsey's featured her dog, Rudy, who was the real star of the show. After a few witty back-and-forth messages, we figured we should meet up and see if the banter was just as good in person. Our first date was on a rainy, fall evening on October 11, 2018, at a cozy bar called Charlie Was a Sinner. Over a couple of old-fashioneds, and probably more dad jokes than Chris would care to admit, we quickly realized that we had found something special. That night would be the beginning of many more laughs and shared adventures to come. As time went on, Chris began to realize that his growing sense of home wasn’t coming from the new city he found himself in, but from the woman he was starting to fall in love with. Fast forward a bit, we found ourselves at an Alan Doyle concert where, fueled by great music (and maybe a drink or two), we exchanged our first "I love you’s" on the dance floor. Who knew Canadian folk music could be so romantic, eh? Since then, we have made some unforgettable memories together with our shared love for travel, food, and comedy. Our weekends are filled with taking Rudy out for walks, trying new restaurants, and cheering (sometimes too loudly) for our Phillies, Eagles, and Maple Leafs. The big moment happened on September 16, 2023, while we were on vacation in Porto, Portugal. On our final evening in the city and after a very long day of touring, Chris convinced Linsey to trek up to the Mosteiro da Serra do Pilar to watch the sun set overlooking the city and the Douro River. After building up the courage, he finally popped the question that was met with an emphatic, “hell yeah, I will!” We are so excited to begin the next chapter of our lives together and cannot wait to celebrate with all of our favo(u)rite people.
