After speaking with lots of wedding guests, I believe some couples and families are planning on heading to NYC on Saturday afternoon. The easiest way to get there is via Amtrak. Philadelphia's 30th Street Station is only about a 5 minute uber from The Logan hotel. You will take 30th street station right into Penn Station (NYC). Depending on what train you take, it's about an hour and 20 minute ride. There's WIFI, food, drinks, etc. on the train and it's super easy. If you book early enough, one way tickets are around $40. If you questions about tickets or anything else, let Linley know and she can help.
Our recommendation to our guests is to not rent a car. Valet parking at the hotels/parking in general in Philly is super pricey. We recommend taking ubers/cabs and this will be the most cost effective mode of transportation. Also, there are lots of great restaurants, bars, etc. within walking distance of the hotels as well.
Unfortunately, no. We love your kids, we really do. But use our wedding as an excuse to have a night off and enjoy the night!
Since our wedding is during the holiday season, we have decided to make the wedding "black tie optional" - we love the idea of making this wedding festive and fun. This excerpt below is taken from the knot website to help you "Black Tie Optional": It’s actually simpler than it sounds: For a black tie optional wedding, men can wear a tuxedo, but it’s not a requirement. If they end up going tuxedo-less, though, they should wear a formal dark suit and tie instead. Women can go the long evening gown route, but a dressy suit or shorter cocktail dress is fine too.
Matt and I love Sonny's in old city. However, the best cheesesteak in Philly is a great debate, and everyone's opinions differ on this. Below is a list of the best ones and where to find them. Enjoy! https://www.phillymag.com/foobooz/2018/09/22/best-cheesesteaks-philadelphia/
