Skylar just showed up on Billy's doorstep. Literally. They had made plans through a long-lost mutual friend to hang out for the afternoon over a pot of pastalaya and then went to a concert at the Texas Club later that night. Our story begins with laughter over Billy spilling an entire can of red chilly flakes into the pastalaya all while sharing stories of times in the air force and at Mississippi State. Billy's parents and brother ended up stopping by and the first tease of this relationship was when Mrs. Brenda looked at Skylar and said "Billy, she's really cute!"

Skylar and Billy didn't hit it off the bat the first time due to Skylar's vow to "date Jesus" while she finished graduate school. The two didn't speak for a couple of months until Billy got the courage to reach out again through social media. On the day Skylar was finishing writing her master's research thesis, Billy figured she could use a break from the long hours in the office and offered to bring her a beer. She figured she could also use a walk, so the two met up at a lookout on the LSU lake and chatted for over two hours. They got to know each other better and their relationship began to form. As they started to date, they continued to use this spot as a destination for their walks/runs. Now it is where Billy proposed and, thus, the reason for the Michelob picture ;)
