FAQs

The Wedding Website of Lindy Sanderson and Whitney Ellison
If you have questions that are not listed here, please reach out to Whitney or Lindy.
Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

As soon as possible. We will be getting group rates for flights and hotels, and if you want to take advantage of those rates, we will need to know to include you!

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We do not have a strict dress code. We will be getting married at Mirabell Palace so we would prefer suit and tie.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Kids are more than welcome to come on the trip! We are going to ask kids younger than 10 to stay with a sitter during the wedding and reception. Reach out to us if you have questions.

Question

Are there apps that would be beneficial for transportation in Europe?

Answer

Yes! We have successfully used DB Navigator for train rides within Germany and Austria. It will also show busses as well. In Italy, we have used Trenitalia to move throughout the country. To move between countries such as Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium, we used NS International.

Question

How can I learn more information about Salzburg, Innsbruck, or Venice before we go?

Answer

Whitney and I love researching ahead of trips (complete nerds), and we really enjoy Rick Steves. He has an app called Rick Steves Audio Europe that has multiple walking tours for Germany, Austria, and Italy that you might enjoy listening to. He lists many of the main sights in each city and discusses the history associated with each. You can also watch many of his TV appearances on YouTube as well! We also like the YouTube Channel HappytoWander. She has been on trips to many of our cities and gives great information so you will feel more prepared and know what to expect.

Question

What do I NEED to bring with me on our trip?

Answer

1. Adapter - you will need an adapter that fits electrical outlets in Austria and Italy, which is a Type C pin adapter. We found a four pack on Amazon for about $5.00. 2. Waterproof jacket - it rains frequently in Europe so we highly recommend a nice rain jacket. Bonus points if you can get a 3-in-1 jacket that has an outer rain proof layer with an inner puffer jacket. This will be the only jacket you need if you can find one! 3. Waterproof shoes/boots - same concept as above. We took waterproof boots on our trip, but we didn’t end up needing them. Gave us some peace of mind to at least have them though. 4. Gloves, scarves, beanie - these are just nice to have for extra protection, especially if we end up going into the alps where it could be snowing. 5. Fanny pack/crossbody bag - I highly recommend Foldie. It actually has a lock, which is nice when walking in crowds, and it is also smaller than a big purse. 6. Merino wool socks - these keep your feet nice and warm, even in tennis shoes. We had a pair for every day, but you can probably re-wear them if your feet don’t get wet. 7. Fleece-lined leggings and thermal layers - if you are worried you might be cold, grab a couple of thermal undershirts and fleece-lined leggings. These help keep you nice and warm, even on the coldest days. 8. Extra backpack/bag for souvenirs - we took an extra backpack packed in our suitcase just for anything that we bought while we were on our trip. We were able to get everything back in one bag (coffee mugs, nutcrackers, smokers, cheese, etc.). This will help if you are excited to bring back some souvenirs that you will treasure forever.
