Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Irelinde "Lindy" Jackson and Sarah Curran
Once upon a time Sarah said she would move to SLC for "six months tops". Hopfully while you're here you can see a few of the reasons its turning into 6 years soon. We love our city, and these recommended spots (and the people who keep them running and full) are reasons why:

Buds Sandwiches and other Slammin Sammie Recs

509 East 300 South, Salt Lake City, UT 84102

"Buds Sandwiches" -"100% vegan deliciousness. Made from scratch in Salt Lake City." You don't have to be vegan to eat here. PLEASE dont knock it until you try it. We love them deeply. (Take-out/patio only) "Grove Deli and Market" - Cornerstore deli that makes HUGE deli sub sammies. "Central 9th Market" Foccacia breakfast and lunch sandwiches. You will wait in a long line. it will be a vibe. the sandwich / food will be good. "Little Saigon" Bahn mi. yum.

Forty Three Bakery (sit down brunch or top notch to-go coffee and pastries)

733 Genesee Avenue, Salt Lake City, UT 84104

Forty Three Bakery stole our hearts and tastebuds at the SLC farmers market with their tomato pastry and we've never looked back. Moving on to coffee, fruity and spiced pastries and savory meal options as well. Brunch or a to-go coffee and pastry box is our go to choice (:

Capital City Antique Mall

959 South West Temple Street, Salt Lake City, UT 84101

Great place to kill some time browsing with your group or just with your cute self. Find some SLC souvenirs that you actually just love want or need becuase its a huge ANTIQUE MALL! Fun. Lindy loves this place so much, Sarah would rather be mostly anywhere else but will oblige after a Coffee and Lox Toast from next door @ Publik Coffee Roaster.

Liberty Park

600 Harvey Milk Boulevard, Salt Lake City, UT 84105

Liberty Park is just a little bike ride away from Lindy and Sarahs place! One of the biggest and best public parks in SLC. Go lay on "Sun Hill" and watch the ducks in the pond below, walk some laps and talk some yaps, or even go to Tracey Aviary which is located within the park. We are here oh so often soaking in the sun, people watching, picnic-ing, parking.

Silver Lake (Loop Walk/Hike up in the Cayon near Brighton Ski Area)

Brighton, UT 84121

This is a great place to get out and walk to see some fall colors and just enjouy the fresh air. It may be busy at certain times depending on if the colors are peaking there, but this is a great and mostly accessible walkway around the small lake with some tables and sitting areas. There are SO MANY great spots for walking, hiking, and even canyon view drives to do. If you want to hike check all trails for they type of hikes that suit you best or text Sarah. If you're more into a drive for the views great options are "Guardsmans Pass" drive, of just driving through the whole little or big cottonwood canyons and stopping at one of the ski resorts of your choice. The "Alpine Loop" is also popular drive through Utah county/ provo canyon and is just south of our local little section of these beautiful wasatch mountains.

Este Pizza Sugarhouse (and other pizza recs... we love pizza.)

2148 South 900 East, Salt Lake City, UT 84106

"Este Pizza" Sugarhouse Location, Great big pizzas or slices. Very chill sitdown or takeout. Get the pesto ranch on the side for dippin if you're into that. So good. (we usually get the green 4 if we are ordering a whole pizza here but they also do by the slice for cheese, pep, or bee-sting, which you can do with side salad and sodee if you want which I would definety suggest!) "Sun-Rusted Pizzaria" another favorite. Its only got a few booths and then a small bartop seating area, so keep that in mind if dining in but this is a great family spot or just cozy vibe. Awesome staff, FANTASTIC CALZONES! "Pizza Nono" this place is right on the main stretch of "9th&9th" restauraunts and shops. very cute street and right by THE WHALE statue. They have indoor and patio seating. sleek/trendy vibe & still truly good pizza. "Pie Hole" Pizza is by da slice- grungy vibe. big slices in Downtown SLC. It's Cheap- lots of variety, quick, and the potato bacon or daily specials are always bomb.

Thai, Indian, and Sushi

"Tea Rose Diner" - Our favorite Thai food in the valley. So good. Hole in the wall, aunthentic & amazing. We get the Kow Soi. ("Sara Thai", and "Chanon Thai" are both other options closer to Sugarhouse ... and our house and are also great!) "Kathmandu" Indian food on Highland drive or "Bombay House" are great Indian and Nepalese restaurants! "Takashi" Sushi for classy dinner with optional cocktail hour next door at Post Office Place. "Sapa" is a little more laid back than takashi but still has good sushi.

Downtown Farmers Market

209 East 500 South, Salt Lake City, UT 84111

Capitol Hill, Salt Lake City, UT

Salt Lake City, UT 84103

Tour the inside, walk the loop, sit on the lawn, or protest if need be! Up to you! Gives a good view of the whole valley and there are some great little "Avenues" restaurants, coffee shops, or even some hiking trails at the foothills.
