The Meeting

August 7, 2017

Lindy and Sam met on a CRU retreat in Garden City Beach, SC through mutual friends. Over the next few months the two became great friends and eventually fell for each other.

The Engagement

Sam popped the question on their anniversary by taking Lindy on a surprise date to several sentimental locations. First, they went to Cup of Joe, a local coffee shop where they had their first date. Then to the Chinese lantern festival, a seasonal attraction that the two had been to the year before. Finally, to a little bridge outside Talley Student Union on NC State's campus where Sam had first asked Lindy on a date. This is where he asked the all important question, "Will you marry me?"

The Vows

Lindy and Sam had originally planned their wedding celebration to be on June 28, 2020, but when the pandemic hit they had to reschedule for the health and safety of all parties involved. They decided to postpone the celebration, but still got married on the original date with a small, private ceremony outdoors at the North Carolina Art Museum, a favorite spot for the couple.
