We are so excited for you to join us for our wedding celebration, and we want to ensure that you are informed and aware of what to expect at the ceremony and reception in regards to your safety. 1. Please bring and wear a face mask for everyone's safety. We will have face masks available for anyone who does not have one. 2. We will be providing hand sanitizer. 3. Both the ceremony and reception will take place outdoors in the open air, the tent at the DeGolyer Loggia will not be enclosed. 4. Note that we will be having a plated dinner for a low-contact experience at the reception, but please be aware that we will likely have 8-10 people at each table. We will be thoughtful about the seating assignments to group people who may be more comfortable being close to each other. 5. The cake cutting will follow a similar serving process as the dinner. 6. All staff and vendors will be wearing masks and following COVID-19 procedures to keep guests safe. Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns!
While we had met on a few occasions at the University of Texas in 2012, it wasn't until we joined the same intramural coed soccer team that we really connected! Jonathan wasn't necessarily interested in having girls on the team at first (he takes soccer seriously!) but having team get togethers and celebrating wins gave us the opportunity to get to know each other. Pretty quickly, we were spending all of our time together and the rest is history! We moved back to Dallas following graduation in 2016 and after starting new careers, adding new degrees and getting settled, we will finally be getting married before the end of 2020!
The Smellage side of the family was all in town for Christmas 2019 and we decided to kick off Christmas Eve with a trip to the Dallas Arboretum to explore the Christmas Village with the kids and take in the gardens. When we arrived, Jonathan was waiting to take me on a walk through the trails over to the Water Walls! This was a big surprise as I wasn't expecting to see him until the day after Christmas. When we got to the perfect spot, Jonathan had set out pictures of us through the years and gave me a bouquet of beautiful flowers. He got down on one knee, proposed, and both of our families were there to celebrate with us!
