The Story

In your heart I see the start of every night and every day

Lindsey and Scott (think) they met during their junior year of high school in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. Part of a big group of friends, they would often be around each other and friendly, but were never very close. Throughout college, they visited each others' schools through baseball or other friends, but would not see each other for some time after that. In 2016, Lindsey happened to see Scott make a comment on facebook telling another person that he had just moved to Orlando, where Lindsey had moved in 2010. She messaged him with the intention of reconnecting with an old friend. Neither had any idea of what meeting for a drink at The Yard House at Point Orlando would turn into. After seven hours of walking, talking, and reading every single restaurants' menu they realized it was all just an excuse to spend more time together. Scott had to leave the next day for California and would be gone for two months. This would be just the first of many separations to come. They began dating as soon as Scott returned. After only a few months, Scott received the call that he would be moving to Houston to take the position as the Astros' Assistant Athletic Trainer. Lindsey, ever loyal to her school and students, wouldn't join him for another year and a half. In June 2018, they made Houston their first real home together, and loved every bit of it. This was short lived, however, as just five months after Lindsey moved there, Scott was offered the job to be Head Trainer for the Milwaukee Brewers. Again, Scott would be moving after the New Year, and again Lindsey could not leave her students, so they endured six more months of long distance. In June 2019, Lindsey and their goldendoodle, Lady, packed up the car again and drove to their new home. Lindsey and Scott had absolutely no expectations for Wisconsin, but are ecstatic about how much they now love Milwaukee. Due to the pandemic, their wedding had a few reschedules. Not wanting to put off their union as well, the couple had a marriage ceremony in the living room of their home. A judge married the couple as bridal party members Jennifer and August acted as witnesses, organizers, photographers, Zoom-ographers, videographers, dog-wranglers, and decorators. Lindsey's mother, Scott's parents, their siblings, aunts, uncles, and cousins attended via Zoom and were projected on a large screen. It was small, emotional, and beautiful. A few months later a third (and final) change the date was sent announcing that they were expecting the arrival of their daughter, Leila. Now, just over two years later than their original wedding date, Lindsey and Scott could not be more excited to have the ceremony and reception that they have dreamed of for so long. The couple are so thrilled to finally able to walk down the aisle and promise their love for one another in the presence of their family, friends, and beautiful baby girl. Their story is not an easy one, but it is one filled with adventures, love, and strength; and it's theirs.

The Engagement

I'm stuck on your heart I hang on every word you say

On December 16, 2018, their Sunday started like many others. They went to brunch at Lindsey's favorite Hobbit themed restaurant, stopped at a pet store to spoil their dog, and decided to explore a new part of Houston. They picked up Lady, and went to Hermann Park in the middle of the museum district. Neither of them had ever been there (so Lindsey thought), and they spent the afternoon exploring. They found a deserted rose garden (which Scott had been scouting out all week) and began talking about their future. They discussed the upcoming move to Milwaukee, six more months of long distance, and what it would mean to once again pack up their lives and start all over. They talked about baseball and how the ups and downs that come with the lifestyle have made them stronger, more appreciative, and closer as a couple. They shared their hopes, fears, and the adventure that lay before them. With Lady laying at their feet, and Lindsey curled up on the bench next to him, Scott said "This is about us, and I want to always be about us," then went to his knee and asked Lindsey to marry him. Completely shocked and suprised, Lindsey looked at faces of her two greatest loves looking up at her (as Lady could not miss out on an opportunity to be involved) and almost forgot to say yes! They hugged, kissed, and cried in excitement, knowing it was the first step towards forever.
