Our Proposal

"He who finds a wife, finds a good thing, And shall obtain favor from the Lord." Proverbs 18:22 Our proposal was a crazy busy day. It was a surprise party I had planned for Lindsey for her birthday. I had to get everyone involved to help keep it a secret. If you know Lindsey, it's so hard to hide anything from her. Well, all the plans had fallen into place. It worked perfectly because Lindsey had to work. This made a perfect opportunity for me to help get the venue set up and get all the pieces in place. I had to act normal so Lindsey wouldn't get suspicious. As the day moved along, we had the venue all setup and decorated, the catering was all done, out of town guests had begun to arrive. We were making sure no one called Lindsey to ruin the surprise. As time drew closer, I got a little nervous about asking her in front of a crowd. Finally, it was time for Lindsey to get off. She thought we were going to her birthday dinner at Ruth Chris with friends. Ruth Chris is right down from the venue for the party. As we drove in, I had the idea to tell her that I needed to stop by the venue to pickup something from one of my mom's clients. I had to convince Lindsey to come in with me telling her I wanted her to come because I really didn't know the clients as well as she did. As we walked up to the door, the lights were out inside. Lindsey was fussing saying I don't know why we had to come here because they are not even here. Then, the lights came on and everyone yelled "SURPRISE". We partied a little and ate dinner. Afterwards, we got ready to sing Happy Birthday and let her sit upfront and she began to open her gifts. She had a dozen of fresh red roses and a box of chocolate covered strawberries. The strawberries were dipped in white chocolate and spelled out, "Will you Marry Me?"
