We're Getting Married!

Now, there are two sides to every story, and Stephen and I may quibble over the details, but this is pretty much how I remember finding the love of my life and it all started over eggplant! I had just started working as the Café Manager at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank, New Jersey. During lunch time I asked Stephen, whom at the time was the chef in the cafeteria if he could set aside Eggplant Parmesan for my lunch break. He replied to me “sure thing”, but when I returned for my eggplant he told me that he forgot to put it up for me! Suddenly, I went from being excited for lunch time to being furious that I wasn’t going to get to eat any eggplant. Everyone knows that food is a way to a girl’s heart and he just broke mine at that very second. I know that he could see how disappointed I was that I couldn’t get my eggplant that day so he offered to take me to dinner to get eggplant, but little did I know at that time this was his plan all along. Throughout the next couple of weeks Stephen asked me numerous times if I would like to go out to dinner with him to make up for what happened. At first I thought he was just joking with me but then I thought “okay, maybe he is serious”. I accepted the date offer and we went out to dinner. We had such a good time that night and YES, I finally got my eggplant! About a month later I found out that he purposely threw out the eggplant just so he could take me out to dinner. Ever since that first date Stephen and I have been inseparable. Who knows what would have happened if he never threw out my eggplant that day!
