Spencer and Lindsey met in their first year at Wilson Middle School back in 2015. They had band and gym class together and eventually shared the same group of friends. For the first unit in gym, pickleball, they got randomly paired together for the class-wide tournament--and won the entire thing! After this, they started to show some deeper interest in each other, and as far as middle school relationships went, they had a pretty solid one. However, it was hard to communicate over the summers (Lindsey wasn't allowed to text boys yet--thanks Mom!), so their "relationship" fizzled out a bit although they remained great friends. It was sophomore year of high school when Spencer and Lindsey officially started dating, and they haven't looked back! Throughout high school, they were able to cheer each other on in sports, go to homecomings and prom together, and see each other in class almost every day. When they went separate ways for college (Spencer to Whitewater and Lindsey to Madison), they knew that distance would be no match for their relationship. As they now prepare to graduate college, they could not be more excited to tie the knot! Following their marriage, Lindsey and Spencer are excited to move to New York City to start their careers!
During Lindsey's time studying abroad in Italy, Spencer came to visit her for spring break. He had taken Lindsey's Dad out to lunch to ask for Lindsey's hand in marriage before the trip, as he planned to propose in Italy. As part of his week-long trip, the two of them went to Bellagio, a small town in Lake Como, Italy. Spencer arranged for them to go to the iconic Villa Del Balbianello, a beautiful property with a stunning garden where many movies (including Star Wars) had been shot. On the day of the proposal, it was raining and so foggy the mountains were not visible. That didn't stop Spencer. The two of them took the ferry to the gardens and explored the villa which was still so beautiful in the rain. When Spencer decided it was time to propose, the tourist crowd cleared out of the area, the rain stopped, and the fog lifted just in time for him to get down on one knee. It was the most perfect moment, one they will treasure forever. Immediately after they finished up with pictures, the rain started again and the fog lowered--truly God's hand! As a newly engaged couple, they went to a local restaurant for some pizza and spritzes to celebrate. They called their families and told their friends of the wonderful news--they were over the moon! They can't wait to share their big day with each and every one of you!
