So, we met on a boat…

What began as a casual meeting quickly turned into the adventure of a lifetime. Lindsey and Shane first crossed paths while co-captaining a Duffy boat for a birthday party in Long Beach, and after countless laughs, shared dreams, and neighborhood walks sneaking bites of ice cream to their greatest joy and four-legged sidekick, Louie, they knew they had found something truly special. Over the years, they’ve built a life full of travel, cozy weekends at home, and endless inside jokes. Whether it’s Lindsey’s perfect night in with a glass of wine and a spa evening, or Shane’s latest speed-run adventure in the desert, they balance each other effortlessly and make every day feel like a little piece of heaven. One of Lindsey’s favorite tattoos is a pair of swallows, symbolizing love, loyalty, and partnership. As fate would have it, Shane proposed to Lindsey on March 22, 2025—Swallows Day—in San Juan Capistrano, making the moment even more meaningful. With full hearts, they’re excited to begin this next chapter as husband and wife and are deeply grateful to celebrate this special day surrounded by their favorite people.

Things To Do

Downtown San Juan Capistrano and The Mission

26801 Old Mission Road, San Juan Capistrano, CA 92675

Just a short drive from the hotel, we highly recommend a visit to downtown San Juan Capistrano. The heart of the city is the beautiful and historic Mission San Juan Capistrano, often called the “Jewel of the California Missions.” This location is extra special to the Bride and Groom—Shane proposed on the famous Swallows Day, and they also took their engagement photos among the Mission’s stunning gardens and historic arches. After exploring the Mission and strolling the charming shops and cafés downtown, we suggest grabbing a drink at Rodeo X, a lively food hall with great options, or the iconic Swallows Inn, a local favorite known for its character and classic San Juan spirit.

Heritage Barbecue

31721 Camino Capistrano, San Juan Capistrano, CA 92675

If you’re in the mood for amazing barbecue, don’t miss Heritage BBQ in San Juan Capistrano! Famous for its brisket, ribs, and hearty sides, this award-winning spot is a local favorite. Go early—it’s so popular they often sell out!

Irvine Spectrum Center

Irvine, CA 92618

For a fun outing, check out the Irvine Spectrum—great for shopping, grabbing a bite, or riding the Ferris wheel. While you’re there, stop by Javier’s for tasty Mexican food and drinks in a lively, upscale setting.

San Clemente Downtown

110 North El Camino Real, San Clemente, CA 92672

For guests looking to enjoy a little coastal charm, we highly recommend a visit to downtown San Clemente. This quaint stretch along Avenida Del Mar is filled with locally owned boutiques, surf shops, art galleries, and cozy cafés. You’ll find plenty of spots to pick up a keepsake, sip craft coffee, or enjoy an ocean-view meal.

San Diego

San Diego, CA

For those looking to explore a bit more of Southern California, we recommend a day trip to San Diego via the Amtrak Pacific Surfliner. The train departs right from the historic San Juan Capistrano Station—just steps from the Mission—and offers one of the most scenic rides along the California coast.

Theme Parks

Anaheim, CA 92802

Looking for a day full of thrills and magic? You can’t go wrong with Disneyland for fairy-tale fun, Knott’s Berry Farm for roller coasters and old-timey charm, or Universal Studios Hollywood to step into the movies and ride your favorite scenes. Pack your sneakers, bring your sense of adventure, and get ready for a day of laughs, rides, and unforgettable memories!
