Scott was a true gentleman and offered to come to where Lindsey lived for their first, somewhat blind (thanks, Tinder), date. He even gave her the choice between meeting for cereal or whiskey. Lindsey chose cereal, and we feasted and talked about everything from Usher to the Me Too movement. It was a great first date.
It took two months before we went on a second date, but we've been making up for lost time ever since. Before our tenth date we were "just looking" at homes, took a memorable trip to Aspen, and Scott started to warm to Lindsey's dog Milo. By fall we were moving into our home in "NoNoBo" and ready to share our lives with each other.
When you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible. OK, that's from "When Harry Met Sally," but it sums up why you all were invited to a wedding before Scott put a ring on it. He was just waiting for a very special ring to be ready. On Sunday, August 11, near the mountains that we can see from our home, Scott proposed. We drank champagne, danced a little bachata, and smiled for the camera to commemorate the moment.
