We met at our recruitment weekend for graduate school at Virginia Tech. Ryan went to graduate school a few months early to start his research and was desperate for some human interaction by the time Lindsey came to VT. He offered to help move Lindsey's furniture into her apartment, they started hanging out and doing homework together, and the rest was history. TLDR: Ryan chugged a pitcher of beer when someone tried to get them to dance at recruitment weekend - Lindsey knew it was meant to be.
About a month before her birthday, Ryan told Lindsey they'd be going on a surprise trip to celebrate. He wouldn't tell her where, but she knew a passport was involved. About a week before the trip, Ryan told Lindsey they were going to the Bahamas and she was sure the proposal was coming sometime on the trip. The night before they were due to leave, Ryan ran out to run last minute errands for the trip. When he came home, he brought Lindsey her favorite lemon bundt cake and when she opened it to eat it there was a shiny surprise in the icing.
We are eagerly looking forward to our special day and are excited to share it with you. Although we would love nothing more than to celebrate together in person, we have decided to limit the ceremony and reception to immediate family and wedding party. This decision, though extremely difficult, was made prioritizing the safety and health of our loved ones. We hope you can join us virtually on November 7, 2020 at 2 PM CST during a live streaming of our ceremony. Please RSVP to receive a link to the virtual ceremony at: mondscheinwedding@gmail.com
