Our Story

Save Me a Dance

In Fall 2020, Lindsey went with her cousin, Ty, and his now wife, Amanda, on a hiking trip to the Adirondacks. To Amanda’s surprise, she and Ty got engaged on this trip and Lindsey was the amateur engagement photographer. :) We all know that long car rides are great for deep conversations. On the ride to the Adirondacks, Ty and Amanda were trying to think if any of their friends would be a good match for Lindsey. Amanda said, “Well, there’s Mike.” Ty laughed. Then they thought about it some more, and started telling Lindsey all his great qualities. Fast forward a couple months, and Ty and Amanda were out to dinner with some friends, including Mike, and Ty FaceTimed Lindsey into dinner. Mike charmed Lindsey from that first FaceTime. During the conversation over FaceTime, Mike and Lindsey talked about their mutual love for Ty and Amanda and how excited they were for their wedding. Mike ended the conversation by saying, “save me a dance?” at Ty and Amanda's wedding. A few months later, Lindsey was with Ty and Amanda, and this time, they FaceTimed Mike. He was charming as ever. Fast forward another couple months, and Ty and Amanda hosted a party with some of their college friends and invited Lindsey as well. Turns out, everyone who was there was a couple, except Lindsey and Mike. To this day, we all remember that as the BEST dance party of all time. Lindsey and Mike danced together the whole night. When the song, “Call Me Maybe” came on, Mike took out his phone and asked Lindsey for her number. They started texting, but then one day, Mike FaceTimed Lindsey. That FaceTime lit the spark. From that day on, the rest is history. In the coming months, Mike and Lindsey, became “official” as boyfriend/girlfriend. Mike was living at his parents’ house near Oneonta and started a new job at NBT bank as Lindsey finished PA school at Le Moyne College in Syracuse. They saw each other almost every weekend, and they kept their FaceTime tradition alive and FaceTimed every night that they weren’t together. In September 2021, Lindsey had finished PA school, took her board exam, and accepted her first job as a PA at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. Mike and Lindsey attended the long awaited wedding of Ty and Amanda, and they finally got that dance together. :) Lindsey moved back to her parents’ house in Webster to start her new job in Rochester, and Mike moved to his first ever apartment in Syracuse. They were still living 1.5 hours away from each other, but their nightly FaceTimes and frequent visits to see each other fueled their blooming relationship. In September 2022, Mike moved to Rochester, and Mike and Lindsey began renting a townhome in a Farmington (another suburb of Rochester). They finally lived in the same city and retired their nightly FaceTimes for nightly goodnight kisses. In May 2023, Lindsey and Mike went to Syracuse to visit Ty and Amanda and their son, Rowan. It was a beautiful and sunny Sunday, and Lindsey suggested that they all go on a walk to one of her favorite places, Green Lakes State Park. What Lindsey didn’t know, is that Mike was already going to suggest this as the day’s activity as it was the first place that they went “out together” since they met during Covid and many restaurants were closed when they met. During the walk, they all stopped to take pictures, and Mike proposed to Lindsey. This time, Ty and Amanda were the amateur engagement photographers! :) In the coming months, Mike and Lindsey were full force wedding planning and decided why not also buy a house! They bought their first house together in Lindsey’s hometown and began renovating it to make their first home together. We are so excited to start our journey as husband and wife. We cannot wait to celebrate with everyone!! We hope that you all save us a dance. :)
