The Club Continental mansion was built in 1922 by Caleb Johnson, whose father founded the Palmolive Soap Company. This mediterranean style mansion is nestled on the banks of the St. John's River and is surrounded by 300 year old live oaks draped with spanish moss, hibiscus trees, and colorful flower beds. When Johnson's grandson inherited the mansion in 1966, he named it The Club Continental and expanded the grounds to what they are today.
