As Luke recalls it, he first met Lindsey during their freshman year at Sojourn Church Midtown during the 11:00am service, where they sat with the college aged students together. This same day, they went out to a group lunch, sat next to each other and shared some conversation. After this day, they rarely attended the same service, and didn’t reconnect until a few years later at church, once again… Over the years, Lindsey and Luke crossed paths at college ministry events, church services, groupme’s and social media. But it wasn't until the Fall of their Junior year when Luke really caught Lindsey’s attention. After some plotting with her friends, Lindsey decided that if she saw Luke at their college ministry on an upcoming night, she wanted to say something to him, after all, their paths had already been crossed so many times. Before she knew it, Luke walked right up to her and one of her best friends, Bailey, asking them about the UofL vs. Bellarmine game that each had attended the night before! Little did she know, he was waiting for the right moment to talk to her at church again as well. After they spoke that night at church, Lindsey immediately knew that she was interested in Luke. With the help of one of her other best friends / roommate, Prajita, they crafted a message to Luke. Within a week, they had their first date at their local coffee shop, Sunergos, where they talked for about 3 hours. The next month or so consisted of more dates, talking over winter break, and enjoying getting to know each other. On January 19th, 2024, Luke officially asked Lindsey to be his girlfriend! The next year and a half was filled with so many great memories. Just a few of their favorite times together include going on walks in local neighborhoods and parks, coffee dates, going to church together, spending time with each other's friends and family, and simply falling more in love with every moment shared. During Thanksgiving Break of 2024, Luke told Lindsey that he wanted to marry her, and she told him just the same! With this excitement and growing love for each other, they spent the next several months with anticipation and preparation. That next semester they had birthdays, concerts, more dates, family times, graduation, and big life transitions, all awaiting the summer, where Lindsey knew that Luke was planning something extra special for her! On June 3rd, 2025, Luke surprised Lindsey in her backyard after she went on a walk with one of her best friends, Hailee, where he asked her to marry him. She was completely surprised, yet so excited to say the easiest yes of her life! After many pictures and calling loved ones to tell them the news, they went to El Nopal to celebrate, of course. Since this day, they have been eagerly planning their wedding and preparing for a lifetime of marriage. Committing to loving God and each other for the rest of their lives, and forever showing gratitude for the wonderful blessings the Lord has given them. We are so thankful for every person that has and will be a part of our story!
