We've made the difficult decision to postpone our wedding, indefinitely. This was a heartbreaking decision, but not nearly as heartbreaking as the idea of putting our loved ones at risk. We would love to celebrate with you in the future, but for right now our focus is on everyone staying safe and well during this pandemic. Thank you all for you love, support, and understanding. -Jake and Lindsey
It was the summer after graduation and Jake accepted a job in Cool Springs that had nothing to do with his degree. There he met a mutual friend of Lindseyâs. After looking over her shoulder at her phone and cracking some jokes like âDang, whoâs she, when are you gonna introduce us?â The time came one Monday night in September at a Bearded Birthday Bash Whiskey Jam, when the stars aligned. Jake finally saw his beautiful future wife in the midst of a neon glow and the sound of a country song. After a short conversation of hellos and small talk about a dog that Lindsey adopted that morning, she was gone. Headed home to care for her new little sick puppy. Fast forward a couple of short months, and some failures to acquire her phone number, Jake decided to take matters into his own iPhone and drop her line on her instagram page. It was over from there! đ
Lindsey and Iâs first date was in January of 2018. So after a whole year had passed I knew that the time would be coming up where I would have to ask for her hand. So I started planning. Lindsey helped with some of it by getting us to Kansas City so I could discreetly ask for her fatherâs permission. On the flight home I told her not to put her bags up because we were taking a birthday trip. (She had no clue) Two days later we are running to our boarding gate as they are shutting the doors to get on our flight to California. I was so stressed it wasnât even funny. Neither one of us were very happy either while we were waiting in the TSA line and heard the final boarding call for our flight. Looking back itâs funny now, but at the time, wow. We finally made it to San Francisco, got in our shiny red rental car, and headed down Highway 1 south to Carmel. There we checked in to our beautiful room overlooking the Pacific. The views were breathtaking, but not as breathtaking as she was standing on the California coast. I had scheduled a birthday photo session for us out by the ocean (She saw right through it, although my nerves may have given it away too.) But there with the rocks and the sand and the waves, I got down on one knee and thank God she said yes.
