Jacob was working on a project at his house and was told my dad had equipment that would help, so he reached out to my dad asking to use it. I was walking across the street back to my parents’ house after visiting with my grandma when Jacob was leaving and I must’ve made a good impression because he tasked a couple of his friends to find out if I was single. A few days later, I get a friend request on Facebook, and then received a message after posting my shooting range silhouette giving me pointers on shooting a gun 😂 We made small talk for a few days, but decided pretty quickly we wanted to be together. We went on a couple trips to Hocking Hills, took Lillian and Lainey on little adventures, talked about what our future looked like all while falling in love 🥰 It’s crazy to think about the random events life throws at you, but this event changed my life for the better 🖤
At around 9:00 am the morning of the proposal, I (Jacob) was driving down to Dayton with Nate Skinner to buy a ring. I knew/know nothing about rings, so Skinner was my “Ring Expert”. After buying the perfect ring, I immediately returned to St Marys to meet with Lindsey’s Parents. Jim’s exact words to me after granting permission to marry his daughter was “Don’t f*ck this up!” Lindsey and I then took our dog, Moxy on a walk where I ultimately popped the question. I did this all in one day because I’m terrible at keeping secrets! -Jacob
