We met as freshmen attending Lamar University in Beaumont. Hunter was rushing his fraternity Pi Kappa Alpha, and I was rushing my sorority, Alpha Chi Omega. We had a mixer at a local restaurant called a My Tie Affair. All the mens' ties were put on every other chair. The men sat wherever their tie was placed, the girls sat where there were no ties. Hunter was sitting across the table from me, two chairs down. I thought he was the cutest thing I had ever seen. I was too nervous to ask for his number so one of my sorority sisters got his number for me. We dated for a short period of time, but ended our relationship before I transferred to Texas State University. We didn't speak for 4 years until he came to San Marcos to visit one of his best friends, Tim. At 1:30 in the morning he thought it would be a bright idea to text me to hang out. Well, I didn't go because of the time, but I did tell him I would be in town at the end of the month & we could hang out. I met up with him at the Lamar Football game & we laughed and talked all night. He came to visit me Halloween weekend of 2016. We hung out with our friends at a party and had the time of our life. He asked me to be his girlfriend that night & we have been inseparable ever since. In 2019 we decided to do a year of concerts - one, sometimes two a month. The first concert was Warp Tour & we fell in love with a band called Ice Nine Kills. Following that we saw 11 more concerts. The final concert was on November 13, 2019. The last and final band was our new found favorite. We had back stage passes, meet & greet tickets, the whole nine yards. When we got back stage they told us we could take pictures with the band mates. They took my picture and the manager said, "why don't you get one with her"? I heard the band go "OHHH" then looked over to see Hunter down on one knee. It was the most amazing thing that I have ever been a part of. The man of my dreams asking me to marry him in front of one of our favorite bands.
