We met how many 21st century couples meet - on a dating app. I (Lindsey) had been on and off various apps over the course of several years and was not feeling super hopeful about the whole process. Greg was putting himself back out there after ending a prior marriage. After messaging back and forth a bit, we decided to meet up for a quick drink. That quick drink turned into talking for hours and was followed by a second and third date on back-to-back nights the next week. By the fourth date, we both knew that we had found something special, and we haven't looked back since. In the three years since then, we moved in together, got engaged, bought a new house, endured a pandemic, decided to put off a wedding due to said pandemic, co-parented two great boys, and added a third when we had our precious son. Now, we are so excited to finally get married and celebrate with all of you!
I (Greg) had grand plans to propose to Lindsey on the night that we were going to see her favorite musical, Hamilton, in April 2020. As you may suspect, those plans were quickly pushed aside when Covid arrived. Shutdowns meant that I wasn't even able to get the ring I had already ordered for her and had to find a different route. I was finally able to get the perfect ring right before we were heading down to Mexico Beach for Memorial Day. Those who know Lindsey know how special that place is to her, so I thought it would be the perfect place to ask her to be my wife. We took a walk on the beach at sunset on the first night we were there, I got down on one knee and proposed, and she said yes! Even though my original plans had to change, it was still such a special moment. And now, on a different April night, we get to be married at the place where we were supposed to see Hamilton back in 2020.
