Where We Met: A little app starting with a "b" and ending with "umble." On their first date, Lindsey was convinced they had so much in common with their life values and passion for people and activities. So she asked Brian on a second date to which he replied, "I'd be open to it--" hesitant about how much Lindsey played soccer and he did not. Fun Fact: Brian still does not play soccer but Lindsey did teach him what a center midfield was. Place of Residence: Portland, OR

Where We Met: Brian's account... Brian thought the conversation was flowing and the banter was great at their first date at Ruse brewing but was thrown off when Lindsey did not want to get dinner after a couple beers. 'I must have misread the connection,' he thought internally - staring at the bottom of his near-empty beer glass. Naturally, he was thrown off when Lindsey asked about a second date and the only words that came out were.. "I'd be open to it!" Nice move. Lindsey confronted him about the choice of words on date three and it has been an inside joke ever since. Fun fact: Brian taught Lindsey how to deadlift. Place of residence: Portland, OR

Where We Met: Casey is Lindsey's best friend and big sis, literally. Not sure where all the tall genes went by the time Lindsey came along... Fun Fact: Growing up, Lindsey followed Casey around everywhere -- which apparently didn't stop, because Lindsey even followed her all the way up to Portland and into the same career of being a speech-language pathologist. When Casey and Lindsey were both studying to get into graduate school, they lived together in a shared room. They studied together, went to church together, and made weekend trips back to their parent's together. Not every one is as lucky as Lindsey to have a best friend as a sister. Where We Met: Somewhere between The Beer Mongers and De Garde Brewing a long time ago. Fun Fact: Brian's inadvertent trail twin. They may or may not have matching tattoos. And maybe more than one. Brian's go-to outdoor adventurer when it came to hiking and camping before Lindsey came along. Would go to extreme lengths to photograph a bird or the perfect sunrise shot. No surprise that he was the first person that came to mind for a secret photographer for Brian's proposal to Lindsey on a coastal hike. He is one of the most considerate and caring people ever. Where We Met: Daniel has been the big brother Lindsey has always looked up to with his humor, athleticism, and hard work. Fun Fact: Daniel and Lindsey both love Harry Potter and somehow convinced their parents into driving 8 hours in one day so they could go to Harry Potter World. Daniel can be described as the life of a party... which makes sense because he now throws parties for a living. Watch out for him on the dance floor because the Wilsons are a family with moves. Where We Met: Somewhere in Portland 2016-17. Fun Fact: Jon just kept on being around the friend group when Brian visited home from optometry school. And the next thing you know, they end up going to Belgium, Japan, Mexico, Portugal together, doing ridiculous food and drink tours, and then became roommates for 5+ years - you know, the normal kinda friendship. Between the many hours of cocktails, late night bites, and dialing in the perfect pourover coffee were irreplaceable deep conversations about life, purpose, goals and dreams. Where We Met: Allison and Lindsey first met in 7th grade and bonded over playing volleyball (not well) together. Fun Fact: Allison and Lindsey tried to bike around to wineries in Croatia in 90 degree heat. The wine was amazing, the heat was not. One of the reasons this friendship has lasted for as long as it has is because Allison is one of the most loyal friends you could ever have. Place of Residence: Chicago, IL

Where We Met: Pacific University College of Optometry. Fun Fact: Zac and Brian sat in the same row first year of optometry school. They quickly built a close-knit group of optometry school friends (6deep!). Brian and Zac roomed together when they did clinical rotations in Florida. They have road-tripped a lot and have been to many concerts in other cities with each other. Brian used this picture (and cropped out Zac) for his dating profile pic, which worked well because he met Lindsey on Bumble. Thanks, Zac. Place of Residence: Denver, CO

Where We Met: Channing happened to be on Lindsey's first ever soccer team at the young age of 8 years old. They then attended middle and high school together. Fun Fact: Although Channing and Lindsey attended different colleges, they would often visit each other. They both started prayer groups at their respective colleges and would take part in each other's groups. Channing is the type of friend you can always call -- in both the good times and hard times... or if you just need some hair advice. Place of Residence: Dallas, TX

Where We Met: Fowler Middle School, Tigard High School Fun Fact: One of Brian's oldest friends. Despite going to different colleges, Brian and Tobby would keep in touch after graduating from Tigard High. They bonded over working out, food and drink, and the Portland Trailblazers. They shared many late night talks about life and relationships through the ups and downs over the years. Brian was also in Tobby's wedding party in 2022. Place of Residence: San Francisco, CA

Where We Met: Taylor and Lindsey met in middle school and played soccer together throughout high school. Fun Fact: Ever since moving to different states, Lindsey has made several trips to Denver to visit Taylor. Lindsey went to her first (and only) NFL game with Taylor. It was a Texans vs Broncos game --Taylor wore Patriots gear. Taylor is funny and full of life -- making it easy for Lindsey to stay in touch over the years. Place of Residence: Denver, CO

Where We Met: Bridgetown Church community group Fun Fact: Daniel somehow embodies being a little brother and an old man in one person. He is always down to do the spontaneous activities with Brian. From flying to St. Louis for a weekend beer fest, to hiking 24 miles as his first backpacking trip (without knowing what a backpacking meal was), to over-consuming 17% ABV barleywine in one sitting. He has been a good friend and his energy is contagious and heartwarming. Place of Residence: Portland, OR

Where We Met: Danielle and Lindsey met in middle school (go Gage gators!) and played soccer throughout high school together. Fun Fact: Danielle won homecoming queen in high school. She was wearing a dress borrowed from Lindsey, so Danielle basically couldn't have accomplished such a crowning achievement without Lindsey. You're welcome, Danielle. Danielle and Lindsey have had some of the best memories together, celebrating Lindsey's 16th birthday in Las Vegas and Havasu, celebrating Danielle's 16th in New York City, seeing The Temptations in DC, celebrating Danielle getting married, and so much more. It feels right that Danielle will be there with Lindsey on this big day. Place of Residence: San Francisco, CA

Where We Met: Brian's older sister. She's always been around. Until she went up to University of Puget Sound for undergrad and has lived in Tacoma since. Fun Fact: Benita is one of the most talented (and busiest) people that Brian and Lindsey know. Her ambition and heart for others inspires everyone that meets her. Growing up, Benita excelled at piano, inspiring Brian to pick up music. She has directed and ran several non-profit companies over the years. She owns her own coffee roasting company, Civic Roasters. Her business has goals of providing training and employment to formerly incarcerated women. She coaches youth ultimate frisbee, recently leading her team to win nationals. She taught herself woodworking. She works on a farm. She volunteers. She's also an excellent cook and loves hosting people. Most of all, she is a loyal and caring friend to all that know her well. Anyways, Benita excels at everything and we are excited to have her officiate our wedding.
