The Wedding Day

Question

Getting Ready

Answer

Our wedding day began just as we imagined—calm, simple, and filled with meaningful moments. Aaron and Lindsey started the morning together, sharing a quiet cup of coffee, soaking in the excitement of the day ahead. We had a playlist prepared for us by our friend, Pria, who crafted the perfect blend of songs to match the energy of each part of the day. After coffee, Lindsey began getting ready in our new home while Aaron took Reid and Paul out for breakfast. It was the perfect opportunity for some quality time with the boys. Lindsey was joined at the house by Betsy, a dear friend who has become such an important part of our lives over the past few years. Betsy has been there throughout our journey, and having her be a part of this day added an extra layer of warmth and meaning to the experience. She worked her magic styling Lindsey's hair and got a sneak peek of Lindsey's dress. When the guys returned to the house, they met up with Corey, our officiant, to start getting ready. Once everyone was dressed and prepared, it was time for Aaron’s first look with Lindsey. The two shared a heartfelt moment, admiring each other’s outfits and embracing the significance of the day. With everyone ready, we all climbed into a limo, kept Pria's music going, and headed downtown to Minneapolis.

Question

The Ceremony

Answer

The ceremony took place in Studio 130, a light and bright space that perfectly captured the intimate and modern feel we wanted for our special day. The room’s clean, open design created a serene and inviting atmosphere, while natural light poured in, illuminating every detail. The floral arrangements, lovingly crafted by a cycling friend of Lindsey’s, added a soft, elegant touch to the space. The white blooms and greenery complemented the studio’s simplicity and warmth. During the ceremony, Lindsey and Aaron exchanged heartfelt promises to one another, vowing love, respect, and support for a lifetime. But the promises didn’t stop there—we also made special vows to Reid and Paul, committing to nurture, guide, and cherish our bond as a family. Corey, our officiant, did an incredible job walking us through the ceremony, weaving together our vows and moments of reflection with warmth, gratitude, and humor. One of the most meaningful parts of the ceremony was lighting the family unity candle. Together, the four of us came forward, each lighting the candle to symbolize the joining of our lives into one family. It was a beautiful, symbolic moment that captured the essence of our day—love, togetherness, and the start of a new chapter. It was everything that we envisioned it to be.

Question

Photos

Answer

After the ceremony, we took some time to wander through downtown Minneapolis, capturing winter-inspired photos in the city’s most picturesque spots. We snapped pictures on rooftops and in festive alleyways adorned with twinkling lights, giving everything a warm and magical glow. Some of the locations we chose were especially meaningful to us, as they were landmarks of significant moments throughout our relationship—places where we shared cherished memories over the last few years. Lindsey was a true trooper throughout it all, gracefully navigating snow piles in her stunning dress and open-toed high heels. Her determination and joyful energy were contagious, and we couldn’t stop smiling and laughing together.

Question

Dinner

Answer

After the pictures were completed, we continued the celebration with a wonderful dinner in a private room at Spoon and Stable, a beloved Minneapolis restaurant known for its incredible food and welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant has earned recognition for its creative menu and excellent drinks, making it the perfect spot for such a special occasion. The private room provided an intimate and cozy space to relax and enjoy the evening as a family. We were treated to a specially prepared menu where everyone had the opportunity to choose their own meal, making the dinner feel even more personal. The four courses featured a variety of options, including fresh vegetables, pasta, seafood, steak, pork chops, and salmon. The meal concluded with a small wedding cake made just for us—a sweet and simple touch that perfectly captured the intimate spirit of the day. Adding to the fun, we learned how to make our own punch, complete with a fascinating history lesson about the origins of this festive drink. It was a unique and playful highlight that made the evening even more memorable, perfectly rounding out a day filled with love, laughter, and celebration.

Question

Ending the Night

Answer

The night ended on a high note as we piled back into the limo, music blasting and laughter filling the air. The energy was light and joyful as we jammed out to our favorite songs, sharing stories and moments from the day. A sweet highlight of the ride was passing around sugar cookies—Aaron’s favorite treat for years. Corey had brought them all the way from North Carolina as a thoughtful wedding present. Luckily, he came prepared with two full boxes, because one wouldn’t have been enough! As we drove through the streets of Minneapolis, sugar cookies in hand, we couldn’t help but reflect on how truly special the day had been. It was everything we had hoped for: simple, heartfelt, and uniquely ours. By the time we arrived back home, we were still riding the wave of happiness, feeling so grateful for the love, laughter, and moments that made the day unforgettable. It was the perfect way to start this new chapter together as a family.
