We were introduced by Tyler's best friend and Best Man, Daniel Nuño, while attending CSU, Chico State. Lindsay and Daniel met through mutual friends and it wasn't long until Daniel decided to put his matchmaking skills to the test and devise a plan for us to meet. "Lindsay, you have to meet my roommate, Tyler - he's like a boy version of you..." and "Tyler, you have to meet this girl, she's just like you." This only made our future encounters feel more pressured and awkward... but still, we were intrigued. It was Fall 2012 and we all met for a night out at the "Crazy Horse," most notably known for having a mechanical bull, square dancing, and cheap drinks. It's still unknown if it was the dance moves or the tequila that sparked this never-ending love story, but it was this night that Lindsay and Tyler shared their first kiss. The holidays approached and even with our extended college breaks, we remained in-touch with long phone calls - even snail mail. We reunited NYE, and later in Tyler’s hometown, Moorpark, where things were made “official." Our affinity for our friends, dive bars, dancing, and all things fun brought us to today, where we'll soon say "I do."
Tyler knew that he was ready to propose. The only thing left to do was figure out the "how." Lindsay had mentioned that she wanted this moment to be a surprise, and a surprise is exactly what Tyler wanted to give her. He came up with a million different scenarios, but Lindsay seemed to catch wind of almost every idea. Groomsmen and former roommate, Arran Caddy, suggested that a group of friends travel to Lake Tahoe for a snowboard trip - something we all hadn't done together as a group before. While this wasn't the original plan, Tyler found this to be the perfect opportunity to pop the question - a scenario she would never expect. It was the perfect day. We woke up and made ourselves a breakfast fit for Kings and Queens, created our very own Bloody Mary Bar, laughed like crazy, and snowboarded our little hearts out until it was time for lunch - one last run! We stopped for photos at the top of Diamond Peak, when Tyler dropped to one knee and asked Lindsay to marry him. Surprised and absolutely delighted, she said "yes!" The day concluded with the best two feelings after hitting the slopes: 1) Ice cold beer 2) Ice cold bling. #RettigOrNot
