Here's all you need to know before you go...
Question

What should I budget to spend?

Answer

Sayulita is super cheap so you can go get tacos and beers for lunch and only spend $10/person. Even the higher-end restaurants will only cost around $40/person for tons of food and drinks. Prices for food, drinks and activites are extremely reasonable everywhere in town. Many villas do offer their own food and drink services so please reach out to your villa owner directly for this.

Question

Can we get cash out in Sayulita?

Answer

Yes, but please only use the ATM located inside the Intercam Banco Sayulita. Do not use free standing ATMs anywhere in town. The Intercam ATM can be accessed via golf cart: Av. Revolución 231 Int. B, Sayulita, 63732 Bahía de Bandera, Nay., Mexico

Question

Are most places cash only?

Answer

Many of the restaurants and shops in Sayulita do accept credit card. We recommend having some cash on hand for street vendors and as tips. There are several ATMs in the main part of the town if you need to withdraw pesos. We suggest withdrawing cash only from the Intercam Bank in town and not using individual ATMs on the streets. Also, we do not suggest exchanging dollars for pesos at the airport as these vendors charge extremely high fees.

Question

What's the weather in Sayulita like?

Answer

HOT...be prepared for 85 degrees, humidity and lots of sun for most of the day. It does cool down at night but you should plan to drink lots of water in between your margaritas :)

Question

What should I do if I get sick?

Answer

We have Dr. Armando on call for all of our guests. Please call or WhatsApp him at +52 1 322 172 0714 and he will come to your villa with an IV or any other medication if needed. Please do not hesitate to use him as the costs should be minimal and he'll get you back on your feet in no time.

Question

How safe is Sayulita?

Answer

Very. It's easy to see violence in Mexico on mainstream media and assume this applies to all of Mexico. However, that's just not the case. The small village of Sayulita is located far from the border and tucked away from any kind of crime. We promise you'll feel as safe as anywhere when you're there.

Question

How do we get around Sayulita?

Answer

Golf carts! No, seriously, this is the main method of transportation in this town so we'll provide recommendations regarding where to book these.

Question

What's the best way to get to Sayulita?

Answer

You should fly to PVR airport (Licenciado Gustavo Díaz Ordaz) in Puerto Vallarta. We'll then help arrange transportation from the airport to town, which is about 45mins by car. To make it easier to arrange the transportation, please book your flights in groups with others from your departure city as we can only set up the transportation for multiple guests at a time.

Question

When should we get to Sayulita?

Answer

The majority of wedding guests are arriving Wednesday and departing Sunday. However, we would love for you to make a vacation out of this as well! Keep in mind the Monday before our wedding is Memorial Day so you may just want to take off the whole week and extend your time in Mexico. If so, we suggest staying in Punta Mita or Sayulita for those extra days. Punta Mita, which is about 20mins south of Sayulita and in between the airport and town, offers a super nice beach town with more of the traditional resorts you find in other Mexican tourist cities. If you extend your time in Sayulita, we suggest looking into Botique Hotel Don Bonito (https://www.sayulitalife.com/don-bonito). This is a brand new hotel built close to downtown Sayulita. If you want to explore our favorite city in Mexico, check out Mexico City for a few days! The flight from here to Puerto Vallarta is just an hour flight.

Question

Why did you choose to get married in Sayulita?

Answer

We wanted to get married in an intimate, small Mexican town with a beach that allowed us to spend lots of quality time together. We also wanted to celebrate in a town where everyone also felt like this was their vacation too. Oh and did we mention we love tacos and margaritas? Well this town is best suited for all of the above. Sayulita’s cultural blend of beaches, shops, restaurants, activities and smiling people makes the village the perfect destination for an "off-the-beaten-path" Mexico vacation.

Question

Will the wedding ceremony be outside or inside?

Answer

It will be outside in the garden at Villa del Oso. Full bathrooms will be available to guests outside.

Question

What should we wear to the wedding?

Answer

The attire will be summer cocktail. For the ladies, this means cocktail dresses or dressy jumpsuits. For the guys, this means nice pants and sport coats, ties optional. While the days are hot, it should cool down by the ceremony start. However, if you have light, breathable clothes, bring them just in case.

Question

How safe is the water?

Answer

Do not drink the tap water in Sayulita. Always drink from bottled water. Most properties provide large jugs of filtered drinking water.

Question

Where should we stay in Sayulita?

Answer

In Sayulita, the majority of accommodations are in villas and vacation rentals instead of the standard hotel or resorts you'd find in other Mexico towns. Most villas require a minimum of four nights so we recommend looking into accomodations for Wednesday-Sunday. Our wedding venue is Villa del Oso. This is on the far north end of Sayulita with a short 10 minute walk to the main part of town and just steps from the beach! There are lots of unique villas within walking distance of our venue as well. We recommend looking into staying in one of these: https://www.sayulitalife.com/don-bonito https://www.sayulitalife.com/palacio https://www.sayulitalife.com/milagros https://www.sayulitalife.com/ventana-al-mar-4br http://thephoenixsayulita.com/ https://www.sayulitalife.com/pajaro-de-fuego

Question

Should I use pesos or dollars in Sayulita?

Answer

Generally, you will want to use pesos in most establishments in Sayulita. A few, however, will accept US dollars, but the exchange rate varies, and is not in your favor. You will most likely get a better rate from your bank or the money exchange. Your best bet is to use pesos.
