October 4, 2024

Cherry Hill, NJ

it's been a long time coming

We met on the very first day of freshman year in first period, which sounds like the set up for every romance novel ever. Even though we weren't in homeroom together, we still ended up sitting next to each other because of our last names. When each of us got home, we were asked by our moms if we met anyone cute and somehow, we both said each other. We then spent the next 4 years being school best friends, flirting and bullying each other, while I (it's Lindsay writing this, obviously), had a boyfriend every damn second. Finally, October of senior year we almost started dating.... and then we stopped because I "was stupid" (or so Sean likes to say when we tell this story). However, flash forward to Christmas break, we started talking nonstop. After a few moths of joking that he would be my prom date, he asked me to prom in the Walgreens parking lot and I kissed him. Days later, on February 18th, 2015, he asked me to be his girlfriend outside of Overbrook High School at approximately 2pm. And obviously, now, here we are (*cough cough* finally). These past 9, almost TEN YEARS, have been full of nothing but growing together and making memories. Our favorite pastimes include: - Phillies games (and a lot of them) - drinking at la Esperanza Friday afternoons after Sean finishes night shift- - Sean showing me trucks on Facebook market place I don't care about (just kidding...) - unhinged game nights with our friends - forcing Mac and Kiwi to cuddle with us - rewatching Brooklyn 99, Grey's Anatomy, Suits, & New Girl together - quoting Step Brothers and Just Friends at each other - constantly saying "I don't know" when asking each other what we should have for dinner. (I also enjoy making Sean refill my water bottle, making me (and anyone else that happens to be in the house) margaritas, and telling him things about kpop and the books that I’m reading even though he ABSOLUTELY does not care.) I always say that the best part of our relationship has been getting to see how much we have changed and how far we have come since 2015. It always appears as though we are down to do anything for each other . Sean supported me through grad school, and I returned the favor for nursing school. I drunkenly said we should get a cat after moving in together, and then we got two. We bought our first home together and he got me my first new car. We both have introduced each other to the best people in our lives and have gotten to create amazing friendships and memories with them. Now is about to be a brand-new chapter, even if it is with the same setting and characters. After waiting a very, VERY long time, we get to celebrate the last decade with our most beloved friends and family on October 4th, 2024. We can't wait to see you all there. ♡
