Although Lindsay and I shared mutual friends, we didn’t cross paths until June 2023 when fate brought us together during a night out in Charlotte. I noticed her from afar, introduced myself, and within moments we quickly found ourselves engaged in a conversation that felt natural and effortless. We exchanged numbers, and from that night forward, she lingered in my thoughts. Just a few days later, we saw each other again, not knowing we were stepping into the very first pages of a love story we’d spend the rest of our lives unfolding together.

Our engagement story began when we started looking at rings. From then on, each date night felt more meaningful, as if any moment could change everything. Still, nothing prepared me for how beautifully it all unfolded. Rex met with my dad for his blessing and secretly teamed up with my sister to make sure I had a fresh manicure without giving anything away. A week later, he took me to Foxcroft Food and Wine, where he shared how much he loves me and how much his life has changed since we met. Something in that moment felt warm and hopeful, even though I didn’t yet know what was coming. He knelt and asked me to marry him, and through happy tears I said “yes” as the whole bar cheered. Later, we celebrated with my family at Red Rocks, the perfect ending to a perfect beginning.
