Husband and Wife

SURPRISE! We got married on 10/10/2020 and we are officially husband and wife! After going back and forth on what we wanted to do for our wedding, we decided we didn’t want to wait until 2021 or 2022 to tie the knot; so we planned an intimate ceremony at Piedmont Park out here in Georgia. Although the super small wedding wasn’t what we had originally planned, we are still beyond excited to be able to finish off 2020 as husband and wife! We're really sad we won’t be able to celebrate with you all this year, but still hope to throw a party in the future, so we can make up for it (when the world calms down). We appreciate your love and support throughout these crazy times, and always. We hope everyone is doing well and staying safe. We miss and love you all!! With Love, Mr. and Mrs. Butcher!

COVID-19 Cancellation :(

Hey Everyone, It has been a very emotional past few days, as we have been forced to make one of the most difficult decisions yet as a couple. With state restrictions, along with health and safety concerns during this crazy time, we are having to cancel/postpone our wedding and move it to an undetermined date. As devastating as this is for us and our loved ones, we know it is 100% out of our control and we continue to stay positive and focus on what matters most-- our health, love and just being together. We will keep everyone posted on Wedding planning 2.0 and would love nothing more than for all of you to be apart of our special day once we make new plans. Thank you all for the continued love and support you have shown during this time. We are so grateful. Please remember to cancel any flights or accommodations you may have already booked. Most places should be understanding about the circumstances and offer full refunds. Stay safe and healthy, Love, Marcus and Lindsay

How it all began...

Summer of 2017

Lindsay and Marcus met working on HBO's Sharp Objects, where they made a Rom-Com out of a show that was anything but. It all started out like a schoolyard crush, filled with giddiness, clever poems, cute texts and then a first date at the Georgia Aquarium. They quickly bonded over Big Brother, board games and a competitive spirit that neither could hide. Their favorite tradition started early on, with picnics in the park at nearly every new place they went. It really didn't take long for them to realize they had both met their match. Since then, they've been on road trips, travelled around the world together and even moved cross country!

The Proposal

12.27.2018

Marcus knew for a while how he wanted to propose and figured what better time than in Illinois visiting Lindsay's Family for Christmas. The Plan- Phase 1 - Book an Escape Room (a co-op detective treasure hunt) Phase 2 - Sneak out of Lindsay's family's house with a proper excuse to visit said Escape Room to plant a GoPro and the Proposal Material. Phase 3 - Beat the Escape Room! Win the Girl! Because it's pretty Mission Impossible to surprise Lindsay with anything, it's safe to say that everything leading up to the proposal needed just as much detective work as an escape room. But 007-Marcus managed to pull off the proposal without her having a clue. And ladies and gentlemen, she said "Yes"!
