For the girl who swore she would never be able to find "the one" on a dating app, and for the guy who had decided to delete it the week before but forgot, Lindsay and Leo never imagined they would find love on Tinder, let alone their soulmates. Both were tired of the constant swiping, bad first dates, and painfully boring conversations that didn't go anywhere meaningful. And yet, if either had given up just before, this incredible love story would not have been written. It was September 2017, and Lindsay was in her Junior year at USC. Meanwhile, Leo, 17 miles away in Manhattan Beach, was in his first year at SMC. Lindsay's roommate/bestie Jackie had just re-downloaded the Tinder app and urged her to do the same, but Lindsay refused. She had never had any luck on it before, so why try again? It seemed pointless…until it didn’t. After a few days of watching Jackie swiping, Lindsay caved. "ONE more time, why not?” She asked herself. So there she was, swiping left, left, right, left, left yet again. It was certainly an easy pastime, but she wasn't seeing or talking to anyone she was interested in actually pursuing. In fact, most of the inbox messages she received went ignored, and if she didn't leave them on read, she eventually stopped the conversation at some point. Simultaneously, Leo was experiencing similar feelings. Having been on it for over a year, he was only finding very shallow, disappointing matches in each swipe he made. Countless first dates and a couple of no-shows later, he put the app on auto-swiping and focused his time on school, music, work, and going to Disneyland with friends. Then, one day while taking a much-needed break from a homework assignment, Lindsay came across Leo. Her finger stopped, hovering for a moment above the screen as she narrowed in on the man with the most beautiful blue eyes, adorable curly hair, and infectious, sweet smile she had ever seen. Suddenly, an electrifying current had been ignited, telling her to swipe right and TALK TO HIM immediately. And she did...almost. If you know about dating apps, you know that the other person has to swipe right as well for it to be a "match," and only then are you given the option to message one another. So, her heart raced as she waited to see if the swipe right was reciprocated, and to her excitement, it was. Well, thanks to his auto-liker! Immediately, the electrifying current continued down to Lindsay's fingers, and she wasted no time starting a conversation with Leo. She complimented his beautiful blue eyes and asked if he was also Jewish, as she noticed the Jewish Flag in his bio. Leo responded almost immediately, thanking her and telling her that she, too, was beautiful, and yes, he was Jewish. Now, although Lindsay had the unstoppable urgency to message Leo, this did not apply to meeting him. In fact, she made him wait an entire month to have their first date, just to make sure he was interested. They talked back and forth every day until late October, and finally had their first date at the LA Arts District, followed by a Clippers Game. Their second date was Disneyland with their annual passes, their third Halloween at Lindsay's parent's house with some friends, and their fourth Queen Mary's Dark Harbor, where, oddly enough, the people standing behind them in line for one of the haunted mazes randomly asked if they were a couple, saying that they were adorable together. That was the first time such an interaction had ever happened to either of them, with anyone, and it was surely a sign. A few months turned into a year, a year turned into three, and three turned into six. From graduations, first jobs, and moving in together, to a cross-country road trip and adopting two cats, their relationship blossomed throughout every milestone.
