We met in New York City, with our very first date at Van Leeuwen Ice Cream. Kalyan was skeptical—Lindsay’s online presence was hard to trace—and Lindsay was curious why Kalyan wanted to meet so quickly. The date itself was sweet, but at the time, neither of us imagined we’d found our lifelong partner. (Kalyan later admitted he chose an ice cream shop just in case the date didn’t go well—at least he’d still get ice cream.) But something clicked. After a memorable “interview” on the third date by Kalyan on aligning futures and goals, our connection deepened. Lindsay saw in Kalyan incredible kindness and steady dependability, while Kalyan was drawn to Lindsay’s nurturing heart and infectious sense of fun. We fell in love—and here we are, celebrating that love. This Fall, we’ll be hosting a special Indian and Western celebration, and we can’t wait to include all our loved ones.
