October 22, 2016 Lindsay was traveling for work and stumbled upon Alexandria, Louisiana where she found herself having a drink with co-workers at Finnegan's Wake, a small Irish pub in town. Jude was there enjoying a drink himself and they would agree the keeper of the stars knew it was the right time and the right place for them to meet. Lindsay being the social butterfly she is landed at a table of locals where Jude was sitting. After chatting with the woman dressed as Ursula (this was around Halloween), Lindsay and Jude struck up a conversation. Jude had visited Nashville earlier that year which led them to start talking about places to go and see around town. Lindsay had been living in Maine and had just moved back to East Nashville a month prior to them meeting. Jude loved Nashville so much and had hopes of one day moving there. When the night wrapped up they exchanged numbers and planned to keep in touch when Jude made his way to Music City again one day. The next day the two sent "nice to meet you messages" and continued about their normal lives not knowing what was to come! A couple of months had passed when Lindsay was sitting in traffic on her daily commute home and when she looked up, she noticed Barista Parlor, a coffee shop Jude told her about the night they met. She sent him a photo of it, said hello, a few messages were exchanged and that was that. Fast forward two months when Lindsay was in New Orleans and gave Jude a holler to hang out... because New Orleans is Louisiana, right?! Jude attempted the trek to NOLA but halfway out realized he forgot his wallet for gas, etc. If you know Jude, you know this was no lie (although Lindsay had her suspicions). Well, he was telling the truth because they talked every single day after and he still forgets his wallet when they go out! Two months later Lindsay was passing through Louisiana on a road trip with a friend when she and Jude met up for dinner. They then knew they wanted to see each other again soon!
Jude had plans to pass through Nashville and celebrate Lindsay's birthday before heading to North Dakota for a job. I'm sure you see where this is going but we will continue! The new friends spent the weekend with Lindsay's closest friends and getting to know each other. The couple considers their first date to have been that week he was in town though they were just friends at the time. They attended the Nashville Sounds home opener and ate sushi (a date they continue to have every year). Who knew it was love?! Jude put off leaving town a few more days to spend more time in Nashville. Later that week he got a call that the North Dakota job wasn't panning out and the crew was heading back to Louisiana. Within a weeks time Jude found a job and apartment, and was ready to plant some roots in Nashville. Looking back, Lindsay has never seen him plan anything so quickly since they have been together, so she knows it was meant to be all along. They spent that summer traveling, hiking, and being tourists around Nashville! Lindsay was READY for the commitment but Jude slowed things down that summer so they could build a foundation of friendship before rushing into a relationship. Looking back, Lindsay is forever grateful for that time and practice of patience. Summer then came to an end and Jude took a job to work offshore. On October 15, 2017 Jude was heading out of town and when they were saying "see ya later" he finally asked Lindsay if he could call her his girlfriend to the guys on the rig. The story will continue.
Since that day in 2017 Jude and Lindsay have been writing their love story. Lindsay had been wanting a Bernese Mountain Dog for over a year when they moved into their first house together in East Nashville. When seeing the fenced in yard she was determined they would be PAWrents to a fluffer. In the summer of 2018 Gibson came into their lives teaching both of them more than they knew they needed to learn about unconditional love, taking care of something dependent upon them for survival, patience, and commitment. Those values play a role in their day to day and TRUCK (as Jude likes to call Gibson) is to thank. The universe knew he was exactly what they needed.
Fast forward through the laughter, tears, and happenings of building a life together to November 14, 2020. They had a day trip to Chattanooga planned to go see a concert and take a little mini-vacation. Little to Lindsay's knowledge, Jude had planned to propose. The two of them have spent a lot of time together in Chattanooga and it holds a special place in both of their hearts, so it was the perfect place to say "Yes" to forever together. The night before heading out Jude mentioned to Lindsay that they should make a pit stop at Sunset Rock (a view of Chattanooga that is worth seeing any time you visit) which didn't seem unusual. On the drive from Nashville Jude played it totally cool even though they were running a little behind according to his plan and still wanted to go make the stop. Side note, they always keep a disposable camera with them when they travel. So, they arrive at the breathtaking view and Jude whips it out to ask someone to take a photo. As he asks a girl and her friend to take the picture he plays it off by getting Lindsay to stand in the "perfect" spot, looking through the lens while he tells the girls he is about to propose. The look on the girls face was priceless when she realized she had a very important job to do. Jude then turned around and the two locked eyes. As Jude approached he dropped to his knee and said those four words, Lindsay said "Yes", and they spent the rest of the day calling family and friends, enjoying live music and burgers, and celebrating the excitement! Cheers to the future Fattals! Since being engaged, Lindsay and Jude have purchased a home in Madison, TN which they are in the process of making their own! They call it their Boho Bungalow.
Jude and Lindsay have decided to elope to Crescent City, California and get married in the Redwoods. Nature is where the two of them feel most connected to themselves and each other, and look forward to starting their forever together spending one on one time in their element. The elopement will just be the two of them, keeping it intimate and special to their values. The day is set for May 18, 2022. Both Lindsay and Jude’s grandparents were married that day so they plan to follow suit, and share the special day as their own anniversary. The two always said it was so unique that their grandparents shared the same wedding anniversary and knew when they were discussing marriage they would get married that day too!
They hold it a high priority in their relationship to spend time with their loved ones. Getting to know one another on a deeper level along with each other's support systems is one of the things they have enjoyed most about falling in love with each other. You are part of that village and Lindsay and Jude want to invite you to celebrate their union! Details can be found at the top of the page under the "celebration" tab.
