Question

What’s the best way to get to the wedding?

Answer

We recommend flying into Florence (FLR) if you don’t mind a connecting flight. It’s the closest major airport. From there, you can rent a car or take a taxi to the Lucca area. The ride takes about an hour to an hour and 15 min. If you’d prefer a direct (and cheaper) flight, fly into Rome (FCO) or Milan (MXP) and then rent a car or take a train to Florence. Trains leave from Milan’s center (about 15 minutes from the airport) and take under 2 hours. Rome trains are from the airport or city center and take about 2.5 hours (if you're coming from the airport take the Leonardo Express to one of the high speed trains -- Italo or Frecciarosa at Rome Termini or Rome Tiburtina-- they run very frequently). We’ve done it and it’s super easy and affordable. Florence is 1 hr 20 min by train from Lucca (a good option if you’re staying in Lucca, less so if you’re staying in the countryside, where the wedding will be). Florence to the Casale is an hour and is easiest by car or taxi. We’ll provide taxi info for those without cars/ who won’t be taking the train and will help you to coordinate your trip with wedding guests arriving when you do. If you want any help planning travel to the wedding, or planning other trips in and around Italy let us know!

Question

Where should we stay?

Answer

Info on where to stay and what to take into account when deciding is available on our “places to stay” page. Please email or call us anytime if you have questions!

Question

How should I RSVP?

Answer

Please email us at lindsayandjordanwed@gmail.com or send back our RSVP card to RSVP for wedding events. There will be main course options for both the rehearsal dinner and the wedding so please look to our website to choose those! Finally, if you have not sent us your dietary restrictions, please email us asap!

Question

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

Yes! In addition to dinners on the 1st and 2nd, and of course the wedding on the 3rd, we're also planning an optional activity for July 2nd ( wine/ cheese tasting), and there will be a pool party at the Casale on the afternoon of July 4th for those who are still around. Please see the schedule page for details!

Question

Do I need to rent a car?

Answer

The short answer is no, but if you’re comfortable driving (and we mean very comfortable driving, in particular if you plan to drive in the countryside), a car is definitely a nice thing to have at your disposal — to check out places on your own and to get to and from Florence (or wherever you’ll be coming from), though it’s not the only option. For those without cars, staying in Lucca may be best- it has a train station and a car is not needed to explore the city. n fact, cars are prohibited completely at times and in certain areas. We will also be providing transportation to wedding events from Lucca. For those staying in the countryside, a car is recommended, especially if you won’t be staying at the Casale or within walking distance at Tenuta San Pietro. For all guests, please let us know if you need any help coordinating rides to and from the airport or train in Florence (or from Rome, etc). We are happy to assist and and may be able to connect you with other wedding guests who will be arriving and departing at the same time that you are.

Question

How will COVID impact the wedding?

Answer

We are taking precautions wherever we can. The wedding itself and other wedding events will also be entirely outdoors (so long as the weather holds out!). But please let us know if you have any specific questions.
