Jalen! Jalen! Jalen! The gentle giant that I’ve grown to love and cherish. I used to wonder if a man existed that could express himself in words yet still embody the other qualities needed to lead a woman in a relationship, especially one who knew everything( so I thought lol). Through patience, humor, prayer, football arguments, basketball and tons of conversation, I discovered that he was more than just my best friend. He was “Jay-Bae.” In fact, I had found the one who complimented my rigidness and calmed my storms. I will forever be grateful to God for giving me the gift of him!

Since 3rd grade me and Shaun have been the best of friends. I remember the very first time me and him spoke to each other. We were standing on the blue line at Meadows Elementry school in the year of 2003 awaiting for our teachers so we can walk to class. Then suddenly I heard a voice reading the back of my jacket which read "Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets". I turned around and we talked & laughed. The rest is history until this present day! So nobody else could've ever filled the 'Best Man' shoes like my main man Shaun! Through thick and thin, we've shared the best of times. This day wouldn't be the same without you bro! "Peace"

My little cousin Carlos is like no other. There were so many times when we have had talks and discussions that really had us up all night laughing and eating. We would look up and it would be 6 O'clock in the morning on a Sunday! Knowing we had to be at church in a couple hours and would barely be woke during service, (even though I was the drummer). So I salute you cuzzo! You made the line and are a true King in my eyes. This day was meant for you to be apart of.

From diapers to dapper, me and my cousin Paris have known each other. As a kid, I remember when I used to think, "Man does he have alot of toys". We loved power rangers and hot wheels, amongst many other toys that our parents spoiled us with! Im so glad my father and his mother kept us close because between me and him there was never a dull or bad moment. When I started thinking of who would stand with me on this day, Paris was a no brainer. "Peace"

Lil Cuz we grew up like siblings so it was only right that you play a part in my special day. You have had more of an influence on my life than you know. I laugh at the stories of how much we used to fuss and go at each other's throat when we were little and how we have developed into our own. I am just in AWE of how amazing you are. In highschool I had a small circle because I wasn't interested in conforming to what others thought I should be. My junior year of High School, me and Nate had built a comradery unlike anyone else in school. We seperated ourselves from people who weren't about our lifestyle. We chose to eat lunch together and build our own community of friends until our Senior year wnen we had a full table of good vibing people. Nate is a true friend that knows my past pain and witnessed my present joy! So on my big day I had to share it with my dawg! "Peace"

Xavier my handsome wonder intelligent awesome little brother. Gosh, I probably don't tell you enough but I love you man! I went back and forth on rather or not you would say yes to being in the wedding and I figured you would say yes for me lol truth is I have trouble coming to grips with you being an adult. That is probably why my screensaver is still us in 96 when you were still my little baby. I'm so proud of the young man you have become and everything you stand for. You just never cease to amaze me which is why I stare at you when you come home from school to visit lol and the fact that you are still growing...STOP! This man isn't just a groomsman or a friend. He is a brother! Issaac has done nothing but show love to my family for years. Even when he looked like a baby Lebron! From the time where we used to ride in the back of that hot church bus every Sunday till this present day, we have been brothers. We first met when his dad brought him to my house for a SuperBowl party in 2008, when the Giants played the Patriots. We both were Giants fans back then and when they won the game, we jumped up and down AMPED!!! Nevertheless, 10 years have passed since then and we are still rolling! If I were to write all the things that describe how wonderful a woman Lindsay is, the words would be endless. Which is one of the many reasons why I chose to get down on one knee and propose that she becomes my wife. On our first date at 54th street grill, a fire burned on the inside of me and it was so strong that I became stuck by her very presence. This may seem so cliche', but I knew with every fiber of my being that she was the one for me. It was as if heaven opened and God told me himself who she was going to be in my life. NOTHING compares to this virtuous woman that God has placed in my life forever, and I couldn't be more grateful for her. I could go on and on about the reasons why I love this girl....We started off as two misfits from our towns that ended up at Truman. We ended up as roommates with numerous amounts of crazy stories that helped us make it through life in the Ville. From Dobson, to Ryle Hall , to The Duplex and then to Illinois Street, we survived and I couldn't have done it without you. We talked about who would be first to do this and do that, and get married...ahhhhhhh it was not supposed to be me. I wouldn't have it any other way tho, you, Steve and Kali right there with me. "Baby Jas" has to be one of my most favorite people in the whole world. She is just THERE when I need her. I don't know if it's her calm voice or her willingness to do whatever whenever since the day I met her but I can count on her like I can count on myself. She has to be the most "adult" person I know but manages to be the baby out of my group of friends. I don't think I would have made it my last semester of Truman if it weren't for her being there to help me not eat everything in the apartment and going on Ice cream runs after working out lol. There's just this glow about her that she gives off because she lives life with no apologies and I LOVE it! I met Symone at Truman Freshman year and she brought balance to my life. It's crazy that we all went from seeing each other daily to keeping up with each other on FB and IG because life happened. I couldn't imagine having going through Undergrad without the many adventures in the Duplex and on Illinois Street with all the fancy words and expensive taste you introduced me to...Thank you for introducing me to different!

I just appreciate the relationship that we have. It is raw and real, never missing a beat but realizing with victories come trials and real friends are there for them all. My godparents are her actual aunt and uncle...When I met her, she was really into History and writing, you know boring stuff. Well, I was a psych major and it was boring to me. She's really a lowkey genius who loves everything I love. I would sit up for hours talking to her about other random things that would hardly makes sense to anyone else but we just made sense probably because we are both Sagittarius'...I mainly love her because she's honest and not afraid of anything. You need at least one friend who will shrug and be willing to ride even if you aren't sure if you are going...Kiara is that friend lol...KIKI thank you for being a ROD!!

She is probably one of the most significant people in the wedding party because she was the first person I went to when I met Jalen. I told her about him every single day when I came in to work. I would be exhausted from talking on the phone late and smiling hard. Shi knew when we made it official and when I was nervous about the family trip. Shi and I have been friends since 7th grade but have worked together, played soccer, cheered, laughed, cried and figured out life plans in the process. It only made sense that when I decided on the wedding party , she be apart of it. Thank you Shi!

Zaria is my only sister and the last of the Yancy clan. She is the probably the most outgoing young lady I know and isn’t afraid to just TRY. From soccer to violin, drawing to gymnastics, you name it, she’s tried it and has been pretty good at it. Not only is she talented but she’s equally beautiful and intelligent. In a time when everyone seems to follow the crowd, my little sister is a leader among her age group and I’m excited to see what she has in store.. thank you Zaria for agreeing to wear a dress and join me on my special day..I love you baby sister!!!
