How We Met

01.09.22

Like lots of couples these days, we met on Tinder! We had our first date at a small Mexican restaurant (that didn’t even serve alcohol) about halfway between where we lived. Leading up to the date, Lindsay admittedly thought Jake was a little too serious and that the date might be awkward. She even almost canceled!   When we finally met for dinner, we immediately hit it off. Jake turned out to be insanely funny and down to earth and we laughed and talked the entire time. We quickly realized how much we liked each other and soon became inseparable. We don't even have an official dating anniversary because we both knew from that first date that we'd found something special in each other. We still go back to that little Mexican restaurant, sit in that same little booth, and laugh and talk and enjoy each other's company. We both know now that the feeling we had on our first date was the start of something incredible for the rest of our lives. And to think, we both gained so much, all from swiping right!

The Proposal

07.28.23

In July of 2023, we went on a week -long vacation to Rhode Island so Jake could show Lindsay around the beautiful places where he grew up. The trip was amazing! Seeing the roads Jake rode his bike up and down as a kid, the deli where he had his first job, and the house where he grew into the man he is today was an incredible experience for both of us. We saw so many things and ate so much delicious food that Lindsay didn't think the trip could get any better. On one of our last days in Rhode Island, Lindsay insisted (after having a tough day before and having shed a fear tears lol) that they go back to Naragansett because she really wanted to buy a hoodie to remember the trip. All along, Jake and Lindsay's parents knew Jake was planning on proposing on the trip. So while in Naragansett, Jake took Lindsay to one of his favorite places growing up. We parked the car at the end of Newton Avenue surrounded by huge mansions right on the rocky shoreline. We walked out onto these incredible rocks and as Lindsay turned around to pull her hair up, Jake got down on one knee and waited for her to turn around. Jake asked Lindsay to marry him and of course she said yes! And now here we are telling our love story on our official wedding website! We are so excited to share the rest of our lives together and so grateful for everyone who will be there to celebrate with us on our big day. We'll see y'all in good ole Gilbert, SC on September 1st. And Jake, I'll see you at the altar!
