Daniel and Lindsay met at the Savannah College of Art + Design in 2014. They both attended RUF (Reformed University Fellowship) as faith is an important part of their lives. Here, on Wednesday nights, they got to know each other more - they both liked Twenty One Pilots (Blurryface was just released) and both were majoring in Illustration. Daniel expressed his interest in Lindsay early on freshman year while she swore off dating to focus on her future career. Without much thought, life continued on for Lindsay, but on Valentine's Day their sophomore year, their mutual friend David called her up. "What's your favorite kind of pizza?" Alarmed, Lindsay didn't really know what to say, as she was having a Galentine's Night at her friends Elena and Alli's dorm. Legally Blonde was on the tiny screen. Face masks were on. She was in full -no boys- mode. Lo and behold a few minutes later, David arrives with Daniel holding a heart shaped pepperoni pizza, a box of Ferrero Roche chocolates, and a handmade card with a chattering teeth windup toy. Upon reading the room (and the advantage of growing up with sisters) David immediately ditched (classic…). Alone, Daniel sat next to Lindsay holding the pizza. Lindsay refused to eat it. They sat in awkward silence for a long time. The girls were wondering, "When is this boy going to leave...?" The next morning, Lindsay called Daniel to have the “let’s just be friends” talk. (Oh, and did I mention that it was Daniel’s birthday?) Oof. The rest of sophomore and junior year was filled with Lindsay focusing on school - no to boys, and Daniel also focusing on school but - yes to girls. Daniel and Lindsay established themselves as friends and fostered that relationship. They ended up being close friends by senior year with late nights at Hayman's Hall working on illustrations, attending RUF, and hanging out with mutual friends. Senior year arrived! Lindsay and Daniel are stressed about jobs and their portfolios! Lindsay finally went on some dates! Lindsay realized she liked Daniel as more than a friend! Elena encouraged her to be honest about her feelings! Emma said the same! Lindsay said nothing!!! But finally, graduation night 2018 (so dramatic, are you kidding!), Daniel, Lindsay, and a group of close friends head to El Rocco where they drink and dance the night away. At the eleventh hour, Daniel’s friend pulled him aside and asked, “Do you like Lindsay? Then do something about it!” In the wee hours of the morning, Daniel did do something! He walked Lindsay home to her apartment on Jones Street. It was a bittersweet moment, sad that they would not see each other for a long time and proud of where they ended up. In that moment, Lindsay finally confessed her feelings for Daniel. (The crowd cheers!) As spring turned into summer, Daniel settled into his new Brooklyn apartment while Lindsay desperately applied for jobs. They were texting or calling each other daily. Daniel and Lindsay went on a few dates both in NYC and Illinois and made it official. Lindsay decided to move to NYC, couch surfing and looking for a job. In July, they walked the Brooklyn Bridge on a misty cloudy day and ate a slice at Grimaldi's pizza in DUMBO. The rest is history! Lindsay and Daniel live happily in Brooklyn, NY with their dog Loxy - named after their favorite coffee shop in Savannah - Foxy Loxy.
