We met over brunch with college friends in Chicago. Brunch turned into an all day event, and as friends started to leave, we finally started talking. Chase asked Lindsay if she'd like to stay for another drink just the two of them. The more we talked we realized how similar our friend groups were at IU. Two of Lindsay's roommates were married to Chase's fraternity brothers. We lived across the street from each other most of college and had likely crossed paths at some point but had never met. One drink turned into chatting for hours, and the rest was history. Thanks to Jon and Diana who introduced us! Over 4 years we’ve been busy traveling and exploring Chicago. We are now nestled in our condo in Avondale with fur baby, Penny.

On a Monday night close to their anniversary, Chase decided to work from home and cooked the perfect meal for Lindsay. He wanted to do something nice as they had been traveling and it had been awhile since the last date night. He cleaned the apartment, lit candles, poured wine, and had Boys II Men on the record player. In the middle of dinner, Chase announced he had bought something funny for Penny and wanted to show her. Chase came into the room with Penny in a white dress and a ring around her neck with "On Bended Knee" playing in the background (a touch he says wasn’t planned). He knelt, asked her to marry him, and she said "Yes!" in their home.
