In typical Australian fashion, we met at a barbecue. We were both living in Singapore at the time, and Lindsay made the mistake of bringing ice cream sundae supplies as her contribution to the meal, and Amy thought, "Oh my god, how American... bringing ice cream to an outdoor party in steaming hot Southeast Asia." After that initial hurdle, though, we were pretty much inseparable. Fast friends determined to make the most of our time in Singapore, we took turns planning trips and outings to check off our bucket list items together. After a rowdy Christmas Day celebration with too many bottles of champagne, we both realized there was something bigger than just a great friendship between the two of us. And that's the day our lives changed forever! Lindsay had accepted a job offer in San Francisco and was leaving the country a week later. After a couple visits, hundreds of hours on FaceTime, and thousands of WhatsApp messages, Amy took the plunge to join her in the US.
