We met freshman year of college when we were hall neighbors in the dorms. We took a 2D design course together where my project themes were always consistently dinosaur themed and Nick's were the Ohio State Buckeyes. We were friends throughout college but there was never a romantic interest for either of us. It wasn't until nearly 5 years post graduation that there was a spark. And boy was it fierce. After college, I began to develop a love for the outdoors. Living in north Georgia, I spent my free time hiking with my dog, Sully. Meanwhile, I started to develop a little long distance crush on my former freshman year neighbor, Nick as I began to follow his outdoor adventures. Similar to mine except for on steroids. We decided that our common love of nature was enough for us to reconnect. So, we planned to have our first date in Asheville, North Carolina where we would ring in the New Year together with hiking and camping at Max Patch. Prior to our meetup, I had told Nick that I had found an unfinished disposable camera that I believed was from college. We decided to bring it on our adventure, shoot out the rest of the roll and send it out to be developed. Weeks after our first magical adventure together, we got the film back. On the same roll of film were two separate shots; One was a photo of us from New Years Day hiking and then another from 5 years prior at our college graduation night. It was wild. We’re convinced it was fate. Since then, we've been on countless road trips, seen nearly half of the country together, slept in a tent with a mouse, watched the total solar eclipse, seen moose, climbed mountains, crossed streams (Nick has carried me over more than I have actually crossed), serenaded each other with karaoke... the list goes on. Our story has been as far from conventional as you can get but it sets my heart of fire. I can't imagine living an adventure with anyone else but Nick. We are overjoyed and are looking forward to celebrating with all of you!
