Take a walk around the University of Michigan campus! A couple of our favorite study spots are Angell Hall, the UGLi (Undergraduate Library), and the Michigan Union. If you're feeling extra brave, take the bus up to North Campus to tour the engineering and music campus. Highlights include the Duderstadt Library, Bursley Hall (Lindsay's freshman dorm), and the Pierpont Commons Panda Express (where we would always get a post-exam treat).
We loved to spend our summers in Ann Arbor outside with friends - the perfect way to do that was tubing down the Huron River! Grab your water shoes and head over to Argo Park to rent a tube, or spend the afternoon in the park, walking along the nature trails. This is a super popular activity for students and families staying in Ann Arbor for the summer.
Take a walk up to Kerrytown, a super cute residential area a little bit North of Huron Street! It's a great area to walk around, shop a bit, or grab a snack. If you are there on a Saturday, be sure to check out the Ann Arbor Farmers Market. Also no matter what day you are there - be sure to grab a bagel or sandwich from Zingerman's (and definitely try one of the pickles)!
Everyone needs more Michigan gear! If you are looking for anything Michigan related, be sure to stop by the M-Den. You'll be able to find everything you need (and a ton of things you don't).
Looking for a good spot to grab a beer? Look no further an HopCat, one of our favorite restaurants in Ann Arbor! With over 30 beers on tap, it is the perfect place to catch up with friends, watch the Michigan game, or pop in for a mid-studying break. Make sure you try the Cosmic Fries while you are there - they are an Ann Arbor institute!
The best ice cream you will have in your life (according to Lindsay). If you are looking for a way to explore the West side of Ann Arbor and find yourself in need of a little treat, stop by Blank Slate Creamery. With tens of unique flavors made every day, you'll soon understand why it has become the most popular ice cream shop in Ann Arbor.
Nichols Arboretum, also known to U-M students as "the arb", is one of our favorite places in Ann Arbor to take a stroll and hike. Located near the Huron river, it is a gorgeous spot for a picnic, looking at the flowers in season, or catching up with friends.
Show your U-M spirit by stopping by the Big House! As the United State's largest stadium, it definitely does not disappoint. Make sure to take a picture with the big block M sign and hope for another successful year of beating Ohio State!
Bill's was one of our favorite places to sit and have a bev senior year. With a huge outdoor patio, it is a great place to gather with friends in the summer. Located near Main Street, it's also a great way to make it over to the West side of town!
