We first matched on a dating app in September of 2023. After a couple weeks of messaging, we both kind of ghosted each other. Then picked our conversations back up in November. Our first official date was January 5th, which Nolan wanted to pick me up for. That meant I had to tell my dad that I was going on a date (which was scarier than the date itself). We went out to Niagara Falls, even though it was freezing outside. After trying to brave the cold for a walk, we decided to just go back to the car and stay there. We then decided to just drive around and ended up at Chestnut Ridge. For the nine hours spent in the car together, we learned a lot about each other and talked the whole time. He dropped me off around one in the morning, and I couldn’t stop smiling. I was excited to see him again and spend more time together.
In May 2024 (two whole years ago), Nolan and I were sitting at a bonfire in his dad’s backyard. There was music playing, and we were talking about our future together. After some time, Nolan asked me to stand up and face away from him. I did, but was definitely questioning what he was planning. I heard some shuffling, and he told me I could turn back around. As I turned, I saw Nolan down on one knee, holding a ring box. He opened the box, which had a beautiful band with three purple stones (my absolute favorite color), and asked me to marry him. Of course I said yes because nothing felt more right with him. We decided to keep it to ourselves since it was so early in our relationship, and both of us knew there were steps that had to be taken before actually getting married. Fast forward to March of 2026, Nolan had my ring recreated to include a heart shaped diamond from my grandma’s ring, and he had gotten my father’s blessing. About a week later, he re-proposed during our trip down to Florida, and I obviously said yes again!! We booked a little engagement photo shoot during a beach sunset, which was such a fun time. Then came back home and announced to the rest of the family. I know it may seem like not a lot of time between announcing and getting married, but to us, we’ve already been waiting for two years to be husband and wife :)
