How We Met

Go to YoungLife to find your WIFE!

Zack and Lindsey first met at a UTC young life club. Zack was a freshman attending his first YL club. Lindsey was in her junior year. At the start of club, the YLC leaders did a "mixer" where everyone was instructed to go and hug 7 people they had never met. As fate would have it, Zack and Lindsey hugged. Over the next few weeks, Zack "coincidently" sat behind Lindsey until he eventually asked her and her friend Bethany to hangout. Bethany (very eager to see this rumored crush blossom) put Lindsey's number in Zack's phone.

The Proposal

Zack told Lindsey he had a surprise date planned for them and told Lindsey not to be late. Lindsey (always late and wanting to make a point) showed up 15 minutes early. Zack took her to the spot where they first realized they liked each other, the overlook at Stringers Ridge in Chattanooga. However, because Lindsey was so early and Zack didn't want to stall and arise suspicion, the photographer didn't have enough time to make it up the path to clear the overlook of other people. When Lindsey and Zack walked up, there was another couple admiring the view. Lindsey immediately sensed a change in Zack and felt his anxiety rising. A few minutes after arriving, Zack stepped behind Lindsey to "take a picture of her," except really he was waving his arms to get the attention of the other couple to ask them to leave. After several moments, they noticed him and left. Zack told Lindsey the picture wasn't good and he needed another. However, when Lindsey turned around Zack was on one knee.
