It was a warm spring evening in April, 2022 when Jordan and Kayla first met at a rooftop beer garden in Denver, Colorado. Jordan was working his way through the crowd back to the bar where his friend was waiting. Kayla was trying not to spill as she moved away from the bar towards where her friend was waiting. Stuck in a tight spot between two big groups of people, Jordan and Kayla locked eyes for the first time. Noticing Jordan's t-shirt sporting a logo for our favorite hot sauce, Sriracha, Kayla smiled and said "hey, I like Sriracha." Jordan, excited to talk to this cute stranger, exclaimed, "I like Sriracha too!" After that riveting intellectual exchange, the crowd on either side of them thinned, allowing them to continue on their opposite paths--but that was not meant to be. The two of them talked the night away and couldn't wait for their next encounter. Jordan wasted no time asking Kayla out on a date, taking her to a 'paint and sip' the next week. They drank free wine (because Jordan told the owner that it was Kayla's birthday, which it was definitely not) and painted matching sunset desert scenes. The following weeks included mountain hikes, Thai dinners, and multiple guest appearances by Jordan on Kayla's intramural kickball team. Jordan and Kayla spent three awesome years together in Colorado. After one Denver Nuggets championship win, two CU Boulder homecoming football games, three trips abroad (Greece, Costa Rica, and visiting Kayla's sister in Spain/Portugal), countless ski days with friends and family, and hot summer days spent in Austin, TX and Klinger Lake, MI, Jordan and Kayla made the big move across the country to Chicago in October 2025. While on a trip to Japan in March 2026 with a few of our closest friends, Jordan got down on one knee and asked Kayla to spend the rest of his life with him. Since you're reading this on our wedding website, you can probably guess how Kayla responded (YES!!). We are so grateful to have such wonderful people in our lives who are excited to celebrate us and our love for each other. Whether in Mexico or on U.S. soil, we can't wait to enjoy this special time in our lives with each and every one of you!
