Warm, sunny, breezy.
Yes. Because you will be traveling outside the U.S., a passport is required to fly to Curaçao. Please, if you don't already have one, start the process ASAP. Applications can take up to 7-10 weeks to be processed and delivered by mail. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports.html
Hato International Airport - CUR
Typically, yes. There will be rental car companies at the airport when you land in Curaçao. Uber/Lyft don't exist on the island, so your only option is the local taxis (which are roughly $20 minimum per ride) or renting a car for $40-$50 per day. Depending on how long your stay is, renting a car is the best way to go just to have an ease of getting around the island at your own pace without having to rely on others to get to you in time. Not to mention saving money in the long run. If you decide that you would prefer a non-airport rental and want to get one coordinated, please don't hesitate to contact Eddie (401-527-2873) to ensure that you're walking out of the airport with a rental. Cash would be required when picking up the vehicle.
Not very! The island uses the km/h and still drives on the same side we are all used to. Because the island is so small, rotaries are far more commonly used as there are just as many, if not more rotaries than there are traffic lights. In various areas, speeding is curbed by the use of speed bumps or "sleeping police". These bumps can be steep! There are some intersections that instead of a light, it's an intersection that has a steep incline entering, and a steep decline exiting to force you to go slow. So, if you see a sign warning you of a speed bump ahead, SLOW down. Or else you may damage your rental!
No. As long as you communicate with Linda, Eddie or Talia with where your accommodation is named and located, we will make sure you are on the pickup list for the shuttles. Parking at the venue is extremely limited and is not the most desirable ride to get in yourselves, we want you all to enjoy as much as possible by not having to drink and then drive 40+ minutes so we highly recommend taking the shuttle.
With our venue being on the West side of the island, it would approximately be 40 minutes to an hour.
It will be an outdoor, beach venue for both the ceremony & reception.
With the heat & humidity: It is best to favor breathable and moisture-wicking fabrics. For sun protection: Heavily consider sunscreen and sunglasses, it's AUGUST in Curaçao so be advised! Colors: Lighter shades reflect heat, so try your best to stay away from darker colors! (We will have a color scheme for guests to go off of, see in the gallery tab!)
Beach formal, tropical cocktailesque.
Because this is a destination wedding with limited space, we’re only able to extend plus-one invitations to spouses, fiancés, and partners who have been together for two years or more. Each invitation has been addressed to reflect who is invited, and we’re unfortunately unable to accommodate additional guests or substitutions beyond that. We truly appreciate your understanding and can’t wait to celebrate with you. 🤍
In moderation, those that want a few pictures or videos for a short period that is perfectly fine. But don't let it be your whole experience with us, allow yourself be in the moment, just as we will be with you.
Yes, please connect with Linda or Talia to ensure those with restrictions will have accommodations.
Ultimately, all in all, no.
My wonderful, beautiful, maid of honor Talia will take care of what you need. You may text her at (339) 788-4544 with any questions or concerns. If you are not able to get into contact with her, both Linda (781) 206-0244 or Eddie (401) 527-2873 would more than likely be able to supply you with answers!
Whatsapp! If you don't already have it downloaded, please be sure to! It's going to be the easiest way to stay in the loop for the wedding trip.
Almost all beaches there will be rocky and uncomfortable to walk on barefooted, so it's recommended to bring & wear water shoes to protect your feet!
